c6 diff swap question
quick question...need to replace my 05 diff because of cracked carrier...anyways can anybody tell if it is possible to swap an 06-08 auto diff in place of my 05 6mt 3.42 if I also swap my gears into it and buy the correct tail housing??? if so is there any other concerns??...any help would be appreciated greatly...also still looking for an direct bolt on 05 diff or 06+ 3.42 to swap...thanks

The A6 uses a 30 spline.

diff swap...
thanks for the help guys...sounds like the diff carrier from an auto will bolt up...as long as I also buy a updated tail housing...and a 30 spline shaft...then swap the gears....and I just got another headache...anybody want to buy a vette???

I know I’m bringing this thread back from the dead but does anyone still make those diff mounts to put a C5 z06 differential in an 05’ C6? I saw somebody’s user name on here (Stanger383 I believe) and I tried to send him a personal message but I’m new to the forum so I think that might be unavailable for me right now because I’m so new. I don’t know if anyone could potentially reach out to him and give him my username. Or if he wanted my phone number or personal email and someone would be generous enough to pass that along.. My differential is making some sporadic wines and after I changed the fluid, it straight up looked like silver paint lol
