It's there to slow down a fire. I'll be mounting a chrome Brey Krause fire extinguisher mount & chrome fire extinguisher soon, so not too worried about the liner.

Removed mine last year, but no pretty painting to show off.
No problems yet, and you can hear the engine better without it. I like going commando!

Was the paint under the liner plain or clear coated?
Going commando is the only way to roll!

Thank you. I figured it wouldn't be as the C5's aren't either, but was hoping they'd be different.

Before I put my new liner on I had the inside of the hood sanded smooth and painted & cleared. Now it is exactly as the exterior paint.
