When it quit running everything went OFF, dash was black. If anyone has had this problem, and FIXED it Help
Piddler, I would start with your electrical system condition. If these cars are not getting enough volts/power they will go crazy. This is just a starting point, you could have a bad fuel pump, broken balancer, burnt wiring harness and a 100 other possibilities.

It just does not make sense that it runs great after it DIES and you RESTART it. Thanks , have to start somewhere , just don"t want a LOT of extra unneeded parts . and still Not know if problem is fixed. Thanks again!!

Start by having the battery load tested and checking the battery cable connections at both ends. You have to verify that before you dig any deeper.
My first guess would be an electrical problem. If a connection heats up the metal expands and creates an open. Did you let the engine cool down after it first gave you trouble or did it fire up right away after the engine quit? The motor needs, gas, spark and air to run. Checking for proper fuel pressure is also a good idea. As far as air goes you want to look for excess leaks into the system. That's more likely to cause stalling issues when you release the throttle.
If this wasn't a computer controlled vehicle with multiple coil packs, I'd guess it was the coil, but your best bet is to have the battery thoroughly load tested and, if necessary, replace it. These cars don't seem to like weak batteries.

I've seen a bad battery do exactly this. Usually, however, it gets worse pretty quickly. Within a few days it should be intermittently failing to start at all. The problem is so common that you need to confirm the battery and battery cables before moving on to other things.
21K on an '05 suggests it doesn't get driven much. How old is the battery?
If the dash is going black, it's definitely an electrical problem, I would start with the battery and check the cables. I don't think anything mechanical (ie fuel pump) would cause the dash to go black.

It started right up as quickly as I could get it in Park, ran good for 15 miles ,died again, started right up. Thanks for your insight.
