Default Adding seat heat to 2012 GS seats

How hard is it to remove the seat leather in order to add seat heat? Any tips?

I added heated seats to a 2011 Mustang. The Corvette would be just as easy if you buy a kit from one of the aftermarket places. Get a good kit and it will work fine.
Plus, you can mount the pushbutton switches in the spaces on either side of the ashtray where they are for the production cars.
It will just take a little time and patience to remove the seat covers and replace them. Unless you go to an upholstery shop where they can probably do them quicker than you.

I installed seat heaters in my 2010 GS. One thing I learned is that it makes a difference which direction the heating elements run (vertical or horizontal, you want horizontal) and whether you can cut slits into the system without damaging the electrical part. The reason is that your seat's upright section for your back is tucked in with some velcro. If you just put in the heating element and don't have a way to cut a slit, you can't reattach the velcro, so it looks odd. I learned the hard way when my wife bought me heaters from a forum advertiser listed as Grand Sport compatible for Christmas. They weren't for the reasons above. By the time I opened them the return period had expired. Just a PSA.

Mine is a 2012 so the seats are different I believe.

It would be even easier if you just use the OEM heater system.

It's very easy to remove the seat skins. I'd suggest using zip ties in place of the hog rings when reassembling, though. It's much easier, and you'll never see the ties once the seat is replaced in the car.

As mine is my commuter on most days (minus rain/snow) I plan to install only on the drivers seat and hide the switch somewhere. Probably knock it out on Sunday.

I put two sets in two C5s from EBAY $44.00 they worked fine, easy while you are doing the seat mod
