I preferred when the throttle pedal ratio was stock because it was easier to modulate the power while trying to launch progressively for weight transfer modulation / maximizing traction tactic. know what i mean,

Dont understand all the complaints about throttle lag.......when I want more power, I just push the peddle farther....what's the problem? You know not much happens in the first 25% of peddle travel, so adjust your thinking and it's no longer an issue.
In a bone stock A6, there's almost a full second lag if you floor the throttle in an emergency. I found this out when a dumpster truck backing up toward me suddenly cut his wheels to the right and threatened to climb up and over Red's right front. I stomped down on the throttle hoping to get around him before he swung out and hit me. Absolutely NOTHING happened for an endless second.
That "nanny null" and many others were removed by Chuck/CoW's A6 tranny tune which made all the difference in the world in Red's drivability.
I love my Vitesse. I can dial it down for wet weather and back up for playing and enjoyment. Now if I could only get rid of the lag in the A6 paddle shifters...

Back in the '60s every auto had lag, some more than others. If I recall correctly, Chrysler's Torqueflight was the fastest although it still had a lag.
Driver skill was required to bump it a touch early so it would shift at the right point, and we rarely had tachs to go by either.
Shift points and optimum RPM were all by gut instinct, and it worked. And it still will, but it takes practice.

Yup and we could adjust those with valve body springs, shims, and drilling out the pathways to improve performance. Fortunately, just like the carburetor, we have advanced to a point where we have other options. I am sure you are not ready to give up your fuel injection and start tuning a pair of double pumpers on a wedge intake and adjusting the linkages manually. We can now install a controller that adjusts the software on the throttle real-time and I was merely pointing out I would like to have similar software to make adjustments to the transmission shift points and latency.

Can still recall discovering the lag too. Had crossed a large parking lot
and turned out into fast moving traffic which was coming at me.
Stepped on it and waited for that endless second! The car had shifted itself
to some high gear while crossing the lot.

Thank you Doc!
Red's CoW BOOSTED!, Edelbrock'd, NPP'd, TRAILER HITCHED, 100,000k+ mile track record speaks for itself!
