Man I like the idea of using your factory Nav unit but $200 does this include the camera as well. That $200 could go towards a really nice aftermarket head unit.
I agree it does look good. I am not to up on things though and do not know what a ISGM655 is. Is that the camera? Does the camera come with the nav tool? Is the total cost $200, or is the camera on top of that? Thanks
The ISGM655 is a Bluetooth device by isimple that lets me stream music and talk on my phone handsfree. The 200 is pricey but if you want to keep the features of the OEM Head unit (turn by turn directions and song info in the head up display) it's worth it. The camera is not included. But the one I bought was 12 bucks.
I don't really feel that much of a need to spend 800 to 1000 to change out the head unit, so 212 doesn't sound like a bad option. Thanks for all the info.
Pic of backup camera on OEM nav unit. It's much clearer than this pic though. Looks great. I put in a ISGM655 at the same time. Both working great.
looks great! I just ordered the navtool with the HDMI capabilities for $270, pretty happy to see the camera display looking good on the stock Nav system.
Got the Navtool today. Followed instructions for the internal modification. Went Fine. Will install nav radio back in car tomorrow and test. Here is a link to the install instructions.
I would assume you could play movies with either of them considering they both have video inputs but not so sure about sound with the cheaper one ($200).. seems you would need some sort of audio input. The second option has an HDMI jack... That one costs a little more at $270 shipped (coupon code applied)
I see no instructions for the individual small color coded wires(Y,R,G,BL,O, where did you connect these. Thanks
Black is ground. Red goes to accessory power. Grey goes to ground with the Black. Yellow goes to a owner supplied switch to switch between video 1 & 2. Orange goes to backup light power source as well as to the camera. There is a backup light and accessory power source in the fuse panel in the passenger footwell. The case of the radio is grounded. That's where I got the ground from.

Where did you plug this 4 pin connector? I can't seem to find the place to plug this in.
I ordered my Navtool 3.0 (non HDMI) for $200.00 and it came in a few days with no problem. I have installed it and with the assistance of their Chat tech support a couple of times it is in and working. I found their directions minimal with much left out including wiring details but they were able to answer them. I had no problem installing the unit though did have difficulty getting the existing ribbon cable connectors to release. Their directions look like a slide latch and mine were more a hinged latch if that makes sense. I have done some basic electrical wiring and everything went pretty smooth and though it is basically plug and play it does require a little more than that. Everything works as planned but the image is a little too bright or washed out but still acceptable. I used a inexpensive backup camera on a license plate frame with no problem. I have contacted them to see if there is any adjustment but doubt it. I am pretty much pleased and though it has limitations I am able to retain all the factory features like HUD connection, Nav, XM, and microphone etc.
Thanks for your help. How is the image from the Navtool on yours? Mine is kind of washed out but ok.

My picture though ok was very white for light surfaces. I suddenly noticed that when the headlights were on it was like this but when the lights were off the image was near perfect. I opened up the adjustment screen on my radio and turned the diming feature off instead of on or auto and now it works and looks super. It has been a little work but well worth it. Note- on my 2005 C6 it is near impossible to get to the wires on the backup lights to add the wire for this to come on when in reverse. I unwrapped part of the harness that is running below the tail lights. It is easy by taking out one assembly. The green wires in the harness go to the backup lights and are easily accessed to splice in another wire that goes to the camera and to the radio assembly Orange wire. It is a little work but I recommend it either to install yourself or to get a professional installer. For me the results are worth the cost and the effort.
