I appreciate the great pics, l have installed mine and it works well. I am very pleased with the backup camera function. The forward camera I will install shortly but tried the circuit with good success. I recommend the system and even though it could be a challenge to install the board for a not electronics person, it is worth it. I had good luck with delivery and support, especially through their chat function.
I'm very impressed with the Navtool, assistance was helpful through the web chat and email. I love the fact I didn't have to buy an aftermarket head unit and was able to keep the factory look. I wish it came with 4 RCA inputs so I could also mount side camera's to use with the blinkers. When I purchased the item I was under the impression 4 cameras could be wired up but evidently they only did that for the C7. When I ask Navtool about it they conviently skip that question.
Did you get the basic 3.0 or the HDMI version? I was of the impression that HDMI had that capability also. I found that their support would often miss or ignore parts of questions. You might try them again
I got the HDMI version, I wanted all the bells and whistles. Lol
I actually asked them the question 2 or 3 different times and everytime they just skipped over it but to their credit they answered everything else. I would absolutely love to have the side camera capabilities, I think it would eliminate any blindspot and help tremendously changing lanes... Possibly also help when parallel parking.
I'm really surprised a lot more people don't have a navtool, it's pretty damn cool.
I'm new to the forum, but thought I would provide some input here. Mine is a cautionary tale. I bought the non-HDMI NavTool for my 2008. As stated above, the instructions provided by NavTool leave out a few things, but it's close enough I could figure out what to do. But when removing the ribbon cable that plugs into the back of the faceplate, the tiny sliver of plastic that holds it in place broke. So when putting things back together, I had to improvise a way to hold the ribbon cable in place. When I got things together and fired up the unit, everything looked good. Put the car in reverse and the backup camera came up great. Pushed a button to change to a different station and found my touchscreen no longer worked. So I pulled it out, reseated the cable in the back of the faceplate, and tried again. Now everything works, but if I barely bump the edge of the screen, it goes haywire and flickers back and forth. So I tried two more times. Both times I have a dark screen, but when I push the touchscreen buttons (or where I know they should be), they work. I just can't see anything. So I finally gave up and ordered anew JVC unit from Crutchfield. Bluetooth and backup camera inputs are integrated. Looks much more modern an nicer, works great, sounds better than the stock unit (even though I didn't change the factory amp or speakers). It doesn't have navigation, but I rarely use it anyway. And I can either use CarPlay or Bluetooth and my phone for directions.
I'm glad others had success with this, but it is not for the faint of heart.
I just went onto their site to order, when I did they had a pop up for a 10% off code saved me $20
I have been reading this thread and decided to give it a try. Went on site today to order - November special price is $200. I added the push button for $ 10, then got a popup for 10% off. I added that code to the cart then went back to the main site to look around and got another 15% off black friday code. Saved $50 so got it for $160. Worth that to me to give it a try!
If anyone is thinking about ordering - may want to do it today

Worth every penny, I've had it for a few months now and I love it! I can now see when I pull up to a curb so I don't mess up the splitter, and when I back it in I don't have to ask the wife to get out and back me into a spot.

How did you keep from breaking (as happened to DubGA) the ribbon lock that holds the ribbon cable in place on the back of the display, any tricks, suggestions?
Those install instructions and broken ribbon stories are nightmares for someone like me who lumps all things electrical under the category of MAGIC! Is this a job a Best Buy installer could/would handle? What would be a fair price?

I would say a good technician should be able to do the complete install with about two hours labor. I am not sure about Best Buy's technicians and their policy on installing customer provided equipment. Hopefully they can give you an idea after reviewing the instructions. I am very happy with my basic unit and it works great just like it was there from the factory. It even has the capability of installing a forward camera as well using a mini pushbutton switch that can be hidden easily.

As everyone else stated above, it just takes a little patience, I'm an electronics tech by trade so it was very simple for me but for the average person it may be a little scary. I'm not sure about Best buy, if they can't help you, you may be able to take the head unit to an electronics/tv repair shop.
