Does anyone know why my driving lights or automatically on all the time while driving? I have to manually shut them off. My headlights are set to auto but I would think that would only be for the headlights.
Do you mean Daylight Running Lights? These are the large yellow lights next to the headlights, and they stay on all the time when the engine is running unless you put the parking brake on.
The headlights turn on an off in auto (the default setting) when it's dark enough or when you turn on the wipers.
DLRs are a good thing. They help people see you. I don't like the yellow though and converted mine to white LEDs from a forum vendor.

you answered my real concern...how much to swap to leds?

I got the whole kit from TheRadioFlyer here on the forum. It was about $160 including the lights, plug & play wiring harness and heat sinks. I'm pleased with it and highly recommend the kit.
Are the amber DLR's also the blinker? I assume they are but have never gotten out to check.
Yes, THE BCM activates the bright filament of the turn signal bulb as the DRL.
You have four LED options (I've done three):
1. Replace the dual filament turn signal bulbs with yellow LED's and resistors (to eliminate the hyperflashing that occurs when you replace bulbs with LED's).
2. Replace the dual filament turn signal bulbs with all-white LED's and resistors. You need to check with your local DMV code to make sure that having white turnsignals is legal in your state or potentially risk spending quality time with local law enforcement explaining what happened to your yellow turn signals.
3. Replace the dual filament turn signal bulbs with switchback LED bulbs that use white LED's for running light function with headlights but yellow LED's for turn signals and DRL's.
4. Replace the dual filament turn signal bulbs with switchback LED bulbs in conjunction with the RadioFlyer Innovations White DRL harness. This combination will display white LED's for running lights and DRL while yellow LED's are only used when the turn signals are active.
I hate daytime driving lights. There is no law in the United States requiring their use either. Just a politicially correct one. I would be more interested in anyone that has disabled them. Been wondering if cutting a wire would work.

Including law enforcement. It's like the dumb third brake light in the back. If you can't see those large round tail lights you shouldn't be driving. Had to slam my brakes on hard the other day to prevent T boning a girl texting on her cell phone. She ran a stop sign and didn't even hear me blowing my horn or see my daytime driving lights so they don't do much good anyway even if you look at the positive side of it.

I will probably just go with a clear regular replacement bulb, or has anyone tried the Sylvania LED's?
You're driving a car that looks like nothing else on the road in a sea of boring SUVs, CUVs and sedans. I don't think it's the DRLs that are what's making the LEOs notice you.
Same here...I just turn them off by rotating the switch (during the day) every time I start the car...it has become an automatic action for me.
Thats all i do also. Not sure why some post seem to suggest that they can't be turned off. Now the ones on our Acura can't be turned off and that P@#$ES me off. I'll never buy another Acura just for that reason. I don't care if it is the best darn car we've ever owned.....
^^^ Exactly! Just twist the switch and turn them off. I was attempting to install switchbacks when I was informed the DRLs can simply be turned off. I like the look of them off much better than white LEDs. ha!
Now, if anyone can tell me how to disable the 3-blink "feature" of my turn signals, that'd be great!
