Here in Phoenix, at anything over 105 ambient temps outside, I'm seeing coolant temps of 235-240 on the freeway only with the A/C on. If I turn the A/C off it goes right back down to 200-215. I've checked out the fans and had the Freon checked to see if it was over filled. All is good. I bought the car in Colorado and brought it back here. I really don't know what temp tstat is in there. I think my next step is to do a coolant flush and a slightly cooler tsat. Any other suggestions? For the Phoenix guys, is this normal or are my temps too high?
Unless your thermostat is defective, installing one That opens at a lower temp isn't going to help. The one you have is already fully opened.
The coolant flush may help, I would keep it at the 50/50 ratio, outside of that, I would flush the radiator externally to remove any debris blocking the fins.

Cleaning debris is semi-annual maintenance for me. I use a homemade water wand to clean the radiator and condenser.
Gave the car a workout today and went up over Sonora Pass (9,623'). The highway is steep and the average temperature was about 76 degrees. Temps I saw with my '07 (with A6 trans) were:
Steve...that is one of the best, and least known, drives in America!! I have been over it many times, but not in the Vette. It's incredible...when you are going east to west, and cross over the top...there is no place I know of that gives such a feeling of wilderness (well...maybe driving east to west into the Grand Tetons). I am sure there are many other places equally impressive, but Sonora is my favorite.
Back to the point...I began the post, and have picked up enough greatn info/examples here that I am no longer worried at all. Yesterday, I drove 60 minutes on the local freeways--108 degrees, trans was 199-203, same for coolant, and oil was 220. No worries.

Your temps look great for the ambient temperature you had. . . . and yes, I have to agree that the drive over the pass is breathtaking at the least! Glad you've had the chance to drive it. . . .
