what year did was a rear view camera offered?

I have a pioneer unit in my 07 Z06 and installed a backup camera by running just the video wire to the back of it and running the power from the reverse lights so it powers on only in reverse. Usually takes a second or two for the image to appear after going into reverse.

Many head units take 10-15 seconds to fully boot up, but many functions are available before full boot is complete. With my Pioneer 8200 I can put it into reverse literally 1 second after the motor turns over and I will have an image on the screen for reverse camera.

If we change out the radio
we can add not only a rear camera but a front camera as well.
The advantages of changing out the radio are
improved sound quality
Carplay and Android Auto Features
BT if you do not have it
