Default VIN Decoder

Can you identify the trim level (LT1, LT2, ...) on a Grand Sport from the VIN number? I'm looking at a 2013 G.S. LT4. How can I be sure it's an LT4?

Just a heads up, the 4lt option can lead to a lot of dash related headaches. I see you are new to the forum, but I have seen this come up more than a few times and it is expensive to fix.

The fifth digit is a "4" not a letter.

The leather dash bubbling up or peeling off the dash. GM didn't use the right adhesive to properly keep the leather glued to the dash.

Look in the glove box at the option label and it will show on there what trim level also.

I found the car on line. Haven't actually looked at it yet. That's why I want to know how to read the VIN. So I'll know what I'm looking at when I see it.

No. They started over with A in 2010. B=2011, C=2012 and D=2013.

No problem. I'm still learning this stuff myself. I can't figure out that "4" in the fifth digit. I'll do some more research. I'm in South Florida so I'll be busy for the next few days getting ready for Irma. She wants to tear my house down and I've got to try to stop her.

I found it:

4:
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 60th Anniversary (Automatic)
I downloaded the whole file that Google found for me. See below.

The forum has a vin decoder under the tools tab. Here is a generic one with the vin you supplied and 111111 as the last digits.

Awesome. That certainly explains it. It is white with the gray stripes. That might put me over the top. Thanks.

That doesn't tell you what the 4 in the 5th character position is for. OP is still asking about that. Evidently GM has a different decoder for each different Chev car and model year.
