On my '05 (1SB), even if the doors are locked, the trunk can be opened (via the under-dash button). It sets off the alarm, however.
The doors cannot be unlocked (via the door buttons), but the glove box and center console must be locked separately, or they can also be opened. They don't set off an alarm; I'm not sure they would set off the alarm even if pried open when locked.
My '09 Z06 (2LZ)could be unlocked from the door buttons if the windows were down, and that would disable the alarm, so the hatch could be opened with no noise. I assume, that was because the assumption was you would never leave the car open (given that it is an FRC).
I park all the time with the top down, and I just never keep anything of value beyond a few quarters for parking in the car, when doing so.
The only thing I hate about leaving the top off is that anyone can ****** the NAV CD. That's the only thing of value I leave in mine. I used to never think about it. Now I remove it and lock it up in the glove box.
