driver door button issues?
basically I push the button, but it doesn't work but the little light blinks on the door when I push it, and I have to just use the manual open. any ideas? it seems to allways work from outside. sometimes it happens other times it works fine.. strange.
Also to add to the indexing of the windows.. There is no need to hold the switch for so long. You simply lower the window to minimum. Raise the window and hold it for 3 seconds once it reaches maximum upward movement. Then releases and hold for 3 seconds again. Holding any longer won't change the process.

When all else fails, use what GM says.

Don't get upset just because I did what you did - suggested something other than what he was already doing that didn't work.

Do this: Push the inside open button and put your ear close to the latch in the door jam,if you hear a click then the button is sending a signal there to release the latch. That button is very easy to pop out and clean the connectors but it did not help my.
Button in hand, pull it apart to clean it, and note that is has two contact points that jumps across 4 pads on the board. With that problems your having, back that one set of points has a corrosion problem. Hence contact cleaner and a q-tip to get the rubber and boad points clean again.

If the paint is flaking off the button, we have a way to fix that problem as well.

Also, before you plug the button connector back in before you put the button back in the door, give the wire connector good a shot of contact cleaner as well.
Once you have the interior buttons clean and still have a lot of contact cleaner left over, not a bad idea to clean the door pull pads, the the rear hatch release button above the license plate, and maybe even the main tail light connector when you are in the rear fender cover as well. Hell, take it the extra step to pull the tail light bulbs, and even the front turn light bulbs to clean and re-dielectric grease the sockets as well. It does not take much to do the bulb sockets, and will save you down the road from the bulb sockets melting up instead.
