How right you are RobLo....IL tax base is eroding rapidly as the I have learned that 80k people have left here in 10 yrs, all with net worth of over $1M. The knuckleheads running the state and largest city here still believe the way to solve the issues is tax deeper. When the party of the left runs things the outcome is always the same......
New York State lost 190,000 people last year, 2017. With a population of over 19 million it seems like a drop in the bucket but it's still a sizable number and has the politicians worried. And I'll bet most of those who left were either retirees struggling with the high cost of living or young workers with families struggling with the high cost of living. And as you say, the politicians answer is higher taxes, the way of life in a Democratic State!
Living in upstate NY I really cant drive from Dec to March. I got a new NPP to install and I cant wait to get it installed and drive in a few months. But at the same time the wait will make it that much better.
I drive my GS year round as long as there’s no snow/salt on the ground but we’ve had like 4 snowfalls already in the Philly area. Car has been sitting for 3 weeks. 2 days of rain & 60 degrees should wash away the salt so I may be able to drive it Sunday.
come to California ( SF bay area )! the worst we get is rain.
if snow is needed, it's only a few hours away. otherwise, longest interstates in the nation, or some of the best mountain roads too!
I have to talk myself out not driving the C6 everyday!
I feel for you guys back east, but if you want to drive regularly,
head west!
theirs a reason why it's expensive here, but so worth it.
(f.y.i. I grew up in ohio. so I have some feel for the "itch")
About this time of year here in Chicago I start feeling a real need to drive my Vette! By April I start to go nuts! Who else gets this? A few more years I am out of here, for somewhere warm! Add the politics and lack of $$$ and over taxation in IL, just adds to it....
I am in your area as well. This 57 degrees we just had gave me a mega itch.
Hello from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. High today 81 but scattered showers. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)
Yep, your weather is awesome right now, how about June/July/August? That 95* + the humidity every day is a no go for me, I'll take my Pennsylvania 4 season weather any day
Well it plunged into the 50's here last night and the weather girl says we'll struggle to reach 70 today. We'll break out a sweater and take the Vette a cruise-in at the local seafood place this afternoon. I'll be thinking about you guys. BTW I moved to Florida 42 years ago from Georgia where my brother woke up to 12 degrees this morning. If you do decide to move to Florida make sure you go south of Orlando. It still gets pretty cool north of there.

Ft. Lauderdale has never recorded 100 degrees. Miami has once in recorded history. New York hits 100 every year. You keep your four seasons and I'll take my year round summer with winter every January 10th and 11th. LOL
Here in the land of the FROZEN TUNDRA, we have 2 seasons. Winter and one month of poor ice skating. On the day that summer comes, we shut everything down and play a game of baseball.
Just checked the temp outside to see if it required a t-shirt or sweatshirt. It's only 70, but headed to 75 or so. I think I can survive with a t-shirt until sundown.
There's still space here, but it's filling up fast.
I'm in Texas so no winter blues here, but we had a baby on 12/12. Haven't driven the car in about a month now.
The itch is real!
It's now going on day 40! The weather in S. Texas has sucked the last week or so. Hopefully it clears up this weekend and I can take it for a quick spin.
I don't know how you guys up north do it. Going 3 or 4 months would tough.
45 and sunny here in Iowa today, same for tomorrow and most of the snow will be gone. What won't be gone is a layer of salt of every road. With Christmas and New Years I haven't missed the Corvette or the motorcycles that much but now I am really starting too. It will be a while even with the snow gone before I'd get to Corvette out because I want all the salt gone. I have s Suzuki DRZ-400S that can scratch the bike itch and can live with a little salt.
