Phone calls only using Bluetooth. No streaming audio on the C6. You will have to either use your AUX cable or install a streaming audio dongle of some sort. Do a search for what others have done.
I have a USB port on my '12, so I put my music on a 16Gb thumb drive. Far easier than messing around with a phone to stream music. And very easy to update with new tunes. Again, far easier than messing around with a phone and making sure it is charged.
I had no idea the later C6 BT doesn't support streaming! Mine came with an aftermarket head unit, probably would have gone that route myself rather than fiddling with a 3.5mm dongle (they need to be recharged like an earpiece, unless you get an iSimple which can be hardwired to power).
For me it's not just music, I use it to stream GPS voice commands. In fact a use streaming a lot more than phone.
bz- It takes about an hour to charge one up for 8 hours of use. So you can charge it while you stop for lunch and of course you can always charge it while you are using it. You can purchase two for $10 and keep one charged in the console.
What I like about it: you keep the car completely stock, you can answer the phone with the toggle and talk thru the mic, you can toggle your music back and forward, and listen to directions programmed on your phone.
If you want to see a map, I recommend one of those phone caddies that stick in the CD slot. Then you have the option of direct wire instead of blue tooth.
I just use the Aux-in. I plug one cable into phone via the lightening cable that carries both power and audio. Since I like to plug in power anyway it's not a big deal to have the aux cable too.
Later model vets (2009 and forward) blue tooth device is in the VCIM module, hence piggy backs off the ONSTAR module to use that module for the calls.
If you want to pipe the Iphone/ipad into the OEM Nav radio for music on 2011 and later models , then you use the USB aux port in the back of the center console instead. This not only pipes the ipad/Iphone in, but gives you control over the Iphone/ipad on the radio controls as well.
I found this product at walmart, $5, but NOT in electronics. They knew nothing about it. While in check out line, there they were with cheapo ear buds and cell phone covers. Installed in Vette, works perfectly.

Could you confirm the year this USB aux port was introduced? I do not have this org in my 2011 Base 2 LT coupe. Thanks.
