I seriously dont think its the ballast. Ballast is usually on or off. D1S has the ignitor on the bulb, If your bulb is bad it usually turns pink over time. Bulbs will lose lumans overtime and not be as bright.
How is the foreground light. Pattern left and right.. Whats does it look like against a wall

The light looks fairly equal. Still have good driving light also at night. Only notice when you stand in front looking head on at the car. Looks like a lost of reflector surface is reaching a .little when car has only 60 k. The cover is not even frosty. I'm wondering if the G102 is the correct ground I need to check. Could it possibly be another ground to check?
Yes I changed the bulb. I also checked the Ground G102. I will know try to replace the ballast. I was given info from a company that sells them that a DC ballast will act different than an AC. Corrosion can cause a power drop causing the bulb not to reach full brightness. I hope it is the ballast in lieu of the reflector coating.

It was the reflector coating on mine that made the low beams so dim. You might be able to check by removing the low beam bulb and sticking in an inspection camera with the 45-degree mirror - look for any dark areas on the sides. I replaced mine when I had the light assembly apart for new lens.

Thanks I will check that to see if I can see anything.

I have a 2006 convertable with passenger side low beam out. Checked fuzes/relay (all good) changed bulb, still out. My gut call is that Im looking at a ballast issue but is there any way to test that gut feeling? Both worked fine a month ago and I didnt see any signs it was going out, just noticed one night it was out.

Try the ballast from the other side. Sounds like that's what the problem is though. Did you see the link to the write-up I did on changing these out ? Mine's an 05 which differs from a 06+ so be sure to read the entire thread where yours is addressed. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-ballast.html

I had the same issue '05. As mentioned use the driver side ballast to check if that is the problem before spending the $ on a non-returnable one (yes I have a spare along with a spare bulb now), mine ended up being corroded connections that I had the dealer replace.
UPDATE: I noticed when I removed the fender well flap to get to the lights the bulb cover was off and laying to the side. I removed the bulb and took a small mirror and looked inside the reflector bucket. The reflector was on both sides and in good condition, but the top and bottom had none. The thing was the area where the reflector chrome was missing was very uniformed. As if it was meant to not be in those places. I tried to insert a clean cloth in as much as possible to clean the reflector. Appears since the cover was off I assumed the dirt and dust had gotten in and was causing the low reflecting light. It helped some but really need to find a way to clean better.
Does anyone know if the chrome reflector inside the bucket is completely covering the bucket or is there a bit on the top and bottom that is not meant to have it?

Chrome is all in the bowl. Any part that is thin or none will affect the pattern.

The replacement reflectors I installed were missing the upper chrome and I believe the lower chrome as well. That shouldn't matter as that would only throw the light vertically and not horizontally like we need.

ya, I looked it over and getting to ballast doesn't look very tough. Will order a new balast and give it a go.
