The seats are out of the GS for a few weeks while they await new skins. While the seats are out, what are some recommendations or things that should be done to the interior - insulation, shifter, etc. etc.? I'm planning to remove any silver/chrome pieces and paint them black but not sure of what else everyone has done to spruce up the interior. Thanks for any suggestions.
Two tone shift boot and ebrake boot and handle with stitching to match. IMO stay away from adding carbon accent pieces anywhere to your interior. Mike. Would you let me know where you get your seat skins from and what they are made of and how they look. Thanks.

Reason: Question.

Shift boot & e-brake boot will be coming with the new skins along with a console lid, all with matching stitching. Don't worry no carbon accents on this car Planning to cover the entire console/radio bezel with leather/matching stitching when I get the seats back so I can make sure the stitching color matches. Getting the new skins from Interior Innovations - going with full leather (not synthetic) with bright orange stitching to match the car. Should receive them in 3-4 weeks.
May also take some measurements and have my mother-in-law make some tunnel drapes without diamond stitching - something else I just don't like

I have tried to get ahold of II for several months for samples of their Cashmere and Ebony leather to see how well they match. No Luck yet. I agree on the tunnel drapes also. Not too much change but just enough. Mike.

They responded to my initial email within a couple days (over the weekend) and then have been very responsive since. We communicated back and forth via email over the stitching I wanted & the custom cross flags I wanted in the headrests.

i saw a zr1 on YouTube with a bad *** stitched diamonded leather alcentera some sort along the center counsel and sides of the carpet walls and dash looked super nice.
Replacing all the incandescent bulbs with LEDs is definitely one of my favorite interior mods. Also, Lloyd mats for the driver/passenger/cargo area.
Which bulbs did you use/prefer? Has anyone used the custom embroidery feature for the Lloyds mats? I would get them if I could keep the same orange/black stitching throughout the car.

See above - Diamond stitching does nothing for me - reminds me of a quilt my grandmother would make. I love my grandmother, but do not want the interior of my car looking like a quilt
My shifter/e-brake boots came from Interior Innovations.
Jabcat, you should take a look at RPI's custom shifter *****. I love my Jake ****.
I've been contemplating replacing the shift ****, but I do really like the stock ****. I have the suede ****/boot now with orange stitching that was in the IF Carbon Editions (it was in the car when I bought it). I'm not a fan of the grey-ish looking suede compared to the other black leather in the car, but I like a leather shift **** so not sure what I'm going to do there when I get all the other leather pieces in.
Plus $185 for the factory leather shift **** seems a bit much.
I used eBay LEDs, nicer ones but not as overpriced as other places... And they'e the same stuff. No issues in my car.
You might want to look into some of the leather upgrades for trim pieces from those guys in England. They're on ebay, there's a big thread here on people who have used them.
I don't think there's much else I would do. Maybe an insulator for the center console if you use it much.

I've checked out the leather pieces from the guy in England & it looks good. Waiting to get a sample from him on the orange stitching & get my seats back so I can make sure they match. Then I'll start covering the interior plastics with leather.
Anyone use the aluminum-type insulation under the carpet? I see pre-cut sets for the C6 for $250+ or I can buy a large roll of it on amazon for $70 & cut it myself. Thoughts?
The foil and bubbles Insulation? I wouldn' spend 250 on it, that's for sure. It won't block much road noise, and its ok for thermal insulation, but how much heat do you get from your floorpans? I don't really get heat from my center tunnel, even on longer trips, maybe a little bit in the cemter console.
When you get your samples in, post some pictures of them. My friend has almost all the carbon edition parts waiting To go in, but needs a center console lid, which inexplicably hardly exist. So that piece will have to be aftermarket, and hopefully match.
