MGW Shifter
#22
I installed the MGW in my C5 and will probably add one to my GS now that I have the '5' tuned to my liking. This may sound like heresy, but I am using a shortened C6 lever on top of the MGW on my C5. The rubber isolation of the C6 lever eliminates the harshness. I did NOT like the solid shaft. The OE shaft gives just the right amount of cushion without making things sloppy. Did it on a buddies C5 too and he loves it.

Melting Slicks
One of the best mods for sure. My previous C6 had the stock shifter and it was incredibly sloppy and had such long throws. I bought my current C6Z with an older MGW shifter which was a massive improvement, but it rattled like hell on acceleration (common issue with the C6Z lower box).
I got the newest version with lower box not too long ago which fixed the issue entirely. It also made it so much easier to get into reverse. It was a huge pain before. Most likely due to the stock lower box. Shift effort was also slightly reduced from the older MGW which was nice.
Definitely one of the best mods you can do for an M6 equipped C6.

Burning Brakes
Love my MGW shifter!! Unfortunately I still get a slight grind if I shift too quick going from first to second gear. I've already cleaned out my hydraulic fluid and tranny fluid.

Try using a 'cushioned' lever. A little isolation in the level will give the synchronizes a split second more time to do their thing.
