I wasn't parked. I was leaving the parking lot. It was someone else who was parked who backed into my car.

On the AM, I've been shopping a DB9 for about 6 months now. Haven't found the right one yet. Maybe when you get here we can combine resources and see if we both can come up with one Vantage and one DB9. Are you looking for an auto, or a manual?
We definitely need to talk once I get out there. I love the DB9 too.

Believe me, I ripped the guy a new one when I got out of the car, which I later apologized for. He's just a kid, and still learning how to drive. I was there once.

in La I think it's actually legal to shoot those people. They do it out there all the time.

At least this time around the other guy's insurance is going to pay for the repairs instead of me. I just can't believe that this is three times in three or so months since I started daily driving my Vette that it's had to go to the body shop for repairs. I guess the shop can repaint the front bumper while it's in to have the back bumper fixed. I just can't believe how crappy most Texas drivers are.
Amen to the bad drivers in Texas. I see it every day. Makes me wonder how some of these people are alive, much less have a drivers license.

You just need to get one of these carpoons for the front.

Sorry Ed, if it wasn't for bad luck you would have no luck at ALL. Hopefully the kid in the Challenger wasn't a tool. Good luck

I hate to hear such a thang. Maybe you need to have it painted a brighter color or to look like a cell phone so they would see it.

It's not cracked anywhere, but this dealership shop is top notch, and they love my car so they'll do right by me no matter what. When they guy hit me the right rear corner of his bumper basically just slid right up the front of my car. I had the whole weight of his car resting on my bumper at the point of impact. It was enough force that my seat belt locked up. It definitely went into the primer, though. You can see the primer clearly in at least one big spot. You can't tell from this pic, but it looks like my license plate frame was hit as well. It has a scuff on it that matches the rest of the damage.

I did talk to the shop manager about a couple of things. The first is a scratch on my rear bumper that I wanted to have sanded out and re-cleared, and he told me that his guys "would just take that out during prep anyway" so it's not going to cost me anything to have it fixed. I also asked about having my license plate frames wrapped to match my stripes. He's going to talk to his stripe guy to see if he can do it for me. I think that would make the frames perfect.

When I'm leaving a lot, I stop as soon as I see backup lights. Some people back out slow, while others floor it in reverse. Not worth getting hit or having to listen to someone saying they didn't see you.

That's the thing. I did stop as soon as I saw his backup lights, and honked my horn. He backed out anyway, and I laid on the horn non-stop right up until I saw his car hit mine. There was no avoiding this.

I remember the days when Texas drivers would pull over and let you pass. And when the drivers in old pickups would toss empty Lonestar cans in the bed when going down the F & M roads and give you a wave. When everything was bigger and better and the folks were as friendly as they could be.

And the bluebonnets were blooming in the springtime.

At least they still have the bluebonnets.

In the 70's Texas had the best drivers and I was traveling all 48... That went to hell in a hand basket somewhere along the way with Texas and all the other states. People are to distracted and have a fair amount of just don't give a rip anymore..Nothing to be said to make it less aggravating for you.

Update on this situation. Due to family needs I've had to put off having the repairs done, but I just dropped the car off this morning to have everything fixed. I'm also having them repaint my trunk lid to fix a scratch that's been on the car since I bought it, they're going to buff out some hard scratches in my tonneau cover where the top rests on it, and I'm also having my hood repainted on both the top and bottom in preparation for some air brush work I plan to have done under hood. Once they get done most of the car will have been repainted, and most of the stripes completely replaced. I'll post up some pics once they have all of the body parts removed.
