C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Sounds high to me.

I tend to disagree with others on this. Certainly try to get it down but for a 3lt with that many miles it doesn't seem terribly high. If it's what you were looking for, I would go for it.

There's a local car dealership in town that is notorious for this. They won't budge a bit on their pricing and they're always at the very high end of KBB. We're talking 3rd party, used dealership... no factory warranties in most cases. Get out of here, its not factory certified. Last year alone I purchased 2 vehicles and leased another. Their loss.

BTW, I have to add something here.....Who in the hell puts caliper covers over GS brakes???? That is probably the tackiest thing the PO attached to that car (and he attached a lot), thankfully most of that is removable without any damage.

I paid 33k in November for a 2011 Grand Sport, (Red, 6-speed manual, 3LT) with 19k miles. Car was/is in specatular, like-new condition (still has some new-car smell).
They are asking too much. I would pass unless you can get them to go down and you are absolutely set on the color.

What will matter more in a year from now? That you paid a bit more, but got exactly what you wanted? Or you paid a bit less, but got something that wasn't your first choice.
I always go with the first one, but that's me.

I hear what your'e saying but to me this one is more than a "bit" more. I only posted because I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something here, I'm not.

Anyways, if the car you are looking at is the one you really want, it never hurts to take a drive and check it out. If you could convince them to take $37,000 that still would not be bad. Just depends what you are comfortable with.

I am not sure what is going on but just doing a quick price check on C6 Grand Sports on Cars.com, it looks to me like most of the prices are 3,000 to 5,000 higher than when I was looking to purchase a Grand Sport back in November last year. Did prices go up for some reason?

Maybe but none have been close enough to look at and none have been IOM. There is nothing wrong with the vette I have so I'm being picky, I don't have to buy one.

You're making a classic mistake here. You're trying to take the price for far away, cars with boring colors and seem that the market. Lots of people do this, they look at national listings and say "well theres a few cars listed super cheap so that's where the market is". Those cars are outliers, and the risk here is you can end up misjudging the market and never finding the car you want in an outlier price. All of those cars may have flood damage, been 5.3 swapped, or similar issues.
You need to decide how bad you want the new car. C6 prices seem to be rising for desirable cars, and spring is right around the corner so prices will go up again. This IOM car will be 43k in spring.
The consensus has been pretty well established that his asking price isnt out of line, it's not a great deal, but its fairly priced and he might come down 1-2k in person.
The question is if you want this car or not. Is it going to both you if you miss this car and never find another one like it? You're pretty picky in your criteria, so it's a very real possibility. You have all the data needed to show you misjudged the market, whether you accept it or not is up to you. If you dont, you'll miss this car and likely never upgrade to the rare car you want. If you accept it, you can get a fair deal for both parties on this car, the very rare car that you want.

No kidding. People like to bring this up but never mention you're in 06/07 z06 territory. AMD a lot of people dont want a z06. I could have bought a z06 over my CE GS (and In fact my buddy bought a z06 fir less than my car was), but i didnt want a fixed roof. I didnt need 500hp. I got all I needed and stuff I wanted from the GS.
