Default Broken part

I hit a speed bump a bit too fast in my 2005 C6. I looked underneath the vehicle and see a piece that broke or at least cracked. I'm on a business trip and am trying to figure out if this is something that can wait till I get home or needs immediate attention.I'm in Mobile on my way to New Orleans. I'd rather deal with it in Montgomery when I get back.

That's your radiator support frame. I wouldn't be driving it in that condition.

It’s not broken clear off, if I was in your position, I’d get a piece of flat bar 5-6” long, form it to fit and get 4 of the most robust hose clamps you can find and clamp it on there and finish my trip. OR find someone that will weld it up for you.

I agree that you should get that looked after ASAP. If nothing else, do a temp fix, or try to find a welding shop that can at least tack it until you get back home.
It would only take them 5 minutes to do a quick patch job.

Good luck

The support was broke off at the top in both mounting spots. It only held on one side. Not fixing it was not an option.

Great news part was available + a solid shop doing install.
Could not have been an inexpensive repair.
So, what's a job like this run? TIA

The guy actually said it was likely done before I bought the car last August.

Hellova lot less than I w/could've ever guessed.
(Recently paid more than double for new O2 sensor & cat converter. Dealer. )

You're all set w/o concern for that bracket.
Of course respect those speed bumps, now.

Jimmy Florio took care of me. He has my business now. I'll happily drive to Mobile. I will be careful from now on 😂

You got a pretty good deal for 600. The part alone is around 350. I replaced mine last year. Easy job with a lift.
