Tail lights
The tail lights on my C6 were painted black by the previous owner. I would like to remove the paint and return them to stock, any suggestions what works best removing the paint. I tried alcohol which worked but very slowly and will be a tedious process

You can probably take it off with a fairly aggressive rubbing compound without messing up the original plastic.
Goof Off would probably work but I would be concerned it might melt the plastic, so I would test it on the back side of the plastic first.

Just buy a replacement set
depending on what was used on the old ones you could be in for one hell of a chore even if it can be taken off

You can probably find a good set of used ones pretty cheap in the "Parts for sale" section of this forum.

I have used this stuff. You can get from any Home Depot or Lowes. I've used it on all my cars to remove things that are tough to take off without issue, but never on the taillights so test a small spot first. Have also used it on other projects to remove paint and glue.

I believe Home Depot and Lowes no longer sell Goof Off, apparantly because fumes and druggies huffing it. Too bad because its very useful.

If it was done properly the lights were sanded before painting. Gonna be a chore to polish them back.
You can use a citrus based paint remover, it should not hurt the plastic. Test first just to be sure. It is sold in plastic bottles.
