It's the last disk ever for any of these DVD based systems.

I ordered this one about two weeks ago (Version 10). The one that I received was Version 9.0c (same part number).

If you bought it on Ebay dispute the item as "not as advertised" and they will refund your money. It's a simple process and takes about 3 minutes. You might need to include a picture of the disc so be prepared.

Question regarding this v.10 DVD (shown above). I bought a used 2005 and the nav DVD is missing. I purchased this cheap ebay DVD but it has not arrived yet.

Can I simply plug in this updated map disc and I will have functional navigation without having the original OEM DVD in my possession?

I'm sure you won't need the original DVD. I'm not 100% sure a 2005 can read the newer dual layer DVD but I think it can.

Yes it will work on 2005-2013 Nav unit without issues.

Thank you both very much! (Unrelated) Now I just gotta figure out why my CD player says there is no disc in the player after turning the car off and trying to play the audio CD next time I get in the car. Plays the CD only the first time you insert it, after that it doesn't see the disc if the stereo is powered off and back on again. :-(

The CD is finicky at best. When the CD gets dust inside, it starts to do what you are experiencing. Most times, get a can of compressed air from an electronic store, and blow air into the CD slot. Hopefully it will clear any dust from the laser lens or the prism under the lens. A CD cleaner disc sometimes works as well. I've used both before to clear the issue.
Worse case is the the cover of the Nav unit can be removed to get access to the top of the CD player. The CD table can be moved manually to get access to the lens to manually clean it with alcohol on a Q-Tip.

Thanks again 4sumerz!

I tried the "blow air" bit but wasn't sure exactly where in there to blow, so I tried to blow it all across the inside of the opening. It seems to help but not completely fix it. I did purchase a CD cleaner disc and will try that when it arrives.

It's less good than Google Maps or Waze, but it provides updated maps. And it's available even if you don't have phone service and didn't download off-line maps to your phone before your trip. It's worth the few dollars to update it.

There is no difference in the graphics from from the original Nav DVD. The newer roads have been added, and more POI's were added from the previous versions.

The cheapo nav disc seems to be working. It took a minute to load but once initialized it is showing my location map. I haven't driven the car with it on yet but so far so good!

Drove the car with the nav turned on and it shows the map while driving. Haven't done anything else with it like putting in a destination and using it for directions, but still so far so good on it working legitimately.
