A google search indicates that headlights may or may not have internal cooling, if the electrical schematic posted earlier is that of the C8 than the fan posted in the schematic has to pull air from somewhere. This very well may be a design flaw or a production issue which will probably continue until GM fixes it. I doubt GM will want to replace headlights with the same potential issue, your new headlight may leak or pull in moisture just as your spotted light did. As long a GM doesn't have to fix the problem or start replacing headlights they will continue to deny claims and minimize cost. Curious, how many complaints regarding a particular issue does a car company have to experience before they address it? Just my thoughts!!!!!
My solution was simple, I put Lamin-X film on my headlights. There are UV blockers in the film as well as I treat the Lamin-X with 303 (has UV blocker as well) regularly.
I don't want to re-lens them a second time even though it's not that difficult to do.

Why would you mention C8 headlights in a 4 year old thread about cleaning C6 headlights?
Because of the stupid tool of related threads and people accidentally post in an old thread as opposed to the thread they intended to post in.
Well, you can turn that feature off in your individual user options. I did. I don’t know why it’s enabled by default. The topic has come up before, but maybe the administrators might want to poll the forum to get feedback on who uses the feature, and why.

Yeah, I know and I have it turned off as well. I agree I wish the default was turned off on everyone's or remove the feature all together. If someone wants a related thread, let them use the "search button". But we all know how well that works. No one ever searches. Or they'll make the "I know there's a ton of tire threads.....but really my question is different than the other 1000". No it wasn't different, LMAO.

Sorry I posted this in the related thread instead of the C8 thread regarding streaks inside headlights, just ignore.
I've learned over the years that anything plastic, clear or chrome plated, loves wax. Keep a good coat of wax (polish) on them and they will look fine for a long time. The headlights on my 2005 (one owner) look new after 61,000 miles.
