I've read a few threads about people having issues with the low beam lights not working after the car is driven and heated up. All I read says that I need to have the recall done to my 2008. The thing I don't understand is when the headlights go out and I turn the car off, if I use the key fob to lock and unlock the car, when I unlock, the low beams come on for a brief amount of time. Is power to the low beams routed via a different path than when i just try to turn them on?

I think you're seeing the DRLs flash when you press the lock button, not the headlights.

It's a safety recall that's good forever. If yours hasn't been done, you're eligible for a free repair. Go here and type in your VIN:
Because it is a safety recall, there is no expiry date. I have a 2006 that the recall has not been done, but if it happens, I will do the repair myself. It is fairly straight forward, basically bypassing the broken ground wire with another wire.
Good Luck

Reason: Misspelling
mine had the jumper, and a new fuse box. occasionally when it hit a bump both my lights would flash off for a brief second. never did find the cause before i parted ways with it
Here is the Headlight recall bulletin from GM - This one is for 2005-2007 C6 Corvettes. According to GM, C6 models from 2008-2013 will be covered under a Customer Satisfaction Program. All repairs will be at no cost to customers.

No it is the headlights, i'm standing in front of the car looking at them. They stay on for 10-15 seconds, kinda weird.
On my car when I hit the lock button its the day time run lights that flash and when I hit the in lock the high beams come on for an out 10 seconds. This is normal and the lights come on to give you some light as you approach your car.
OK, I stopped by Ben Mynatt Chevy today and showed them the paper. He typed in my Vin and gave me an appointment for Monday @ 8am, there will be no charge. He said that they might have to order parts, if there was an issue with parts he would call me tomorrow. Thanx guys for the help.

Got the car back and I now have headlights. Can't really see what was done? Where did they do the repairs and can I see it?
The repair is done inside the engine fuse panel. They add a jumper that bypasses the broken ground wire. I believe it shows it in the PDF that I attached in post # 9.
Happy to hear that you were succesful in getting the repair completed.
