Default TPMS sensor question

I have a base 2012. Rock Auto lists two different AC delco TPMS sensors. One is for 315 MHZ and one for 433 MHZ. Is there any way to tell which one I have. I'd like to have them on hand when I get new tires. Thanks

Cultrag parts shows the TPMS for a 2012 base is 433 MHZ.

I got mine off Amazon. 2012 GS. Part number was ACDelco 20925924. About $32 each.

just a word of advice, make sure you get the tire installer to program the new tpms prior to installation so that you dont bevome aware of issues after the install - my tire guy let me down in this regard and i never went back to him

cultrag shows both 433 and 315 for a 2012 https://www.cultragfactoryparts.com/...tor-components
so does GMpartsdirect https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-p...omponents-scat

I'd call a GM dealer, give them your VIN, and ask which ones to use.

From what I read, the 433mhz are for cars that were exports into certain countries. For non export cars, 315mhz with the part# 20925924 is the correct TPMS for model years 2010-13. 2005-09 have a different part number.

Same thing happened to me last Spring, no CEL until 2 days later after 5-10 miles.
I thought the delay surprising, would've guessed a CEL be triggered immediately. Nope, not on mine.
I'd have hammered the shop when I took it back, knew WTH wasn't done.
Except a kid's their tire installer, an apprentice mech and he really didn't know.
A veteran wrench had to show how/why/when it's necessary, wasn't very nice to him about it either.
Kid will never forget the lesson.

That's correct and it applied to more than just tire pressure sensors. For all C7's, GM made everything work on the 433mhz wavelength.

Good catch! Both units say they fit a 2012 base but the serviceable pert is the 315. It’s also more expensive than the 433. Definitely call dealer or better yet call Cultrag and they can ensure proper unit number for your car.
