Can the navigation screen be turned off on 2005?

I mean the map of where you are is always showing on the screen. Don’t really need it on when driving around town. Any way to turn it off? Have screen blank when not needed.

Press the SRCE, second button down from the left and pick a radio band on the screen, and to shut it off push the power button on the left bottom. Then you'll see the Corvette splash screen. If you push the power button again, it should go to the same radio band as before. The only time the screen is completely blank, is when the car is completely shut off.

Press the voice activation and say "screen off." It's one of the few voice commands that won't result in directions to the closest Mexican restaurant.
