My opinion after having one with and one without? No. It's too soft in both. I leave my mag ride in sport the whole time. My 2010 without it wasn't any less comfortable than my 2012 with it.
To me, it's an option that doesn't matter one way or the other. The GS has pretty good suspension tuning, so they don't need a multiple mode system to cover up for a lack of suspension tuning.
I just bought a 2011 GS with magnetic ride and it does make a pretty big difference. Unless I lived somewhere with perfect roads I would want the mag ride
I’ve had a GS without it & now my Z06 that has it. Initially, I felt no difference over my GS, but I’ve since had it recalibrated by Jim Mero & it makes a huge difference. I was out this weekend on the same curvy country roads that I’ve driven both cars.
Both cars had the same tires (and sizes), same aero (front splitter, side skirts & rear spoiler), both manuals, both Inferno Orange (because color affects handling - it’s science ). The Z has nearly 200 more horsepower than the GS and was more planted around the same sharp curves along these roads. I was able to take them much faster, both due to the car itself handling better and being more confident that the car was really sticking to the road.
It made the drive much more fun than it had been on many previous occasions. The GS was great without it, but I didn’t know what I was missing
It was standard on my wife’s 17 Yukon Denali XL that we traded 2 years ago but to be honest I couldn’t tell any difference between it and any of my older Denalis.

I had it on my 13 GS, and after that I decided I've never own another C6 or newer that doesn't have it. For me Mag Ride and NPP are "must have" options. Mag Ride especially with Jim Mero's update, is amazing and gives a nice change of feel between Tour and Sport, while handling bumps, potholes and rough roads way better than the standard suspension.
My GS doesn't have it. It wasn't a must have feature for me when I was shopping. I guess I don't know what I'm missing, so I have been happy with my GS.
It all comes down to personal preference. You get a standard suspension with no adjustability & you live with those results indefinitely, usually not bad, just no options. Some have swapped to adjustable coil-overs, but you have to have these manually adjusted (should be by a suspension expert) if you want to change the ride. The next option is MRC, with a change at the flip of a switch. Didn't like mine too much on my 2013 GS stock (way too harsh), but had Jim Mero perform his software update and now I'm loving it and there is definitely a difference when I flip the switch. True tour & sport modes now.
Another vote for thumbs up on MRC with the Jim Mero upgrade!!! He does provide different options as well. I went with New Tour/ Super Sport. It is well worth the money, and the ride is much better in both modes.

I had the same thing done with Jim Mero's update & agree with you, big difference. To be honest, I really couldn't feel the difference of modes before.
I read that quite of few members thought the same thing.
The only down fall of MRC is that I can't get the front end nose lift like the C8s. All the kits I researched showed it for non MRC.
It would be nice not to worry about the splitter in certain situations. Oh well, I lived without it for this long.
I went with the New Tour/New Sport Jim Mero upgrade on my 2012 base coupe. Couldn't be happier. For me, I wouldn't consider a C6 without it and the Mero upgrade. If buying used many dealers and some private parties haven't got a clue what Mag Ride is so you can get the option on a used Corvette for nothing extra.

That's one of those options of no value at used purchase.
The first thing I do with any sports car I own is upgrade the handling, which begins with replacing the stock shocks, swaybars, rubber bushings and new wheel alignment among other things... so "NO", mag ride is a negative to me, as it's just more work to get the car to where I want it. YMMV
