Say whaaat?? You mean you actually, ....gulp...., drive your Corvette??
No offense intended to anyone, but man do you ever seem like a rarity. Amazing to me how many people have 6, 8, 10+ year old cars with fewer miles on the odometer than their street address number.
05 Coupe M6 here, was my son's daily during his college years - he moved to Chicago and I kept the vette, he put 100+K miles on her and she just rolled 116K miles without the roof ever flying off.
The targa creeks were taken care of like said above - by searching this enormous amount of information in this forum, buying some 10 cent o-rings & $30 tube of weather stripping lube......
There are literally thousands of pages many with the same costly repairs on this very forum...repeated ad nauseum.
I get many justify what they spend their money on and feel the need to be defensive. But ignoring the obvious and attempting to ridicule the op is laughable at best.
uhhhhh no!
There was a recall on roof panels because of poor adhesion causing fastened panels to delaminate while traveling down the road.
And yes there are a chiton of issues with C6' s (as well as many 10-15yo Chevys).
Many are common and just ignored by gm while carried-on throughout the generation and sometimes carried into the next gen.
Just to name a few very common C6 failures:
Fuse block
Fuel level sensors
Water pump seal
Starter solenoid
Harmonic balancer
Lifters
Fuel pump relay wiring (see fuse block)
Shifter lock solenoid
Clutch pedal sensor
Clutch master cylinder
Rear axel bolt
Radiator cracking at platic seam.
Lower rad support is poorly designed and junk.

and most can be prevented with proper maintenance.
Lots of rubbish here about reliability of American or German or Japanese with nothing but subjective opinions. JD Powers, Consumer reports and others routinely publish reliability ratings by car and company.

Sir, you are the one who posted how you drove around with a rattling torque tube connector "for years". Its not defensiveness, its not ridicule. It's simply pointing out the obvious - that you clearly have been neglecting maintenance on your car and now are upset over the car's (perceived) unreliability. Like Dr. Frankenstein, you are upset with the beast that is of your own creation.
Whatever. Done here. You are like someone who goes on the Harrison Ford Fan Club page and posts a thread, "HARRISON FORD SUCKS!!!!". You, we, everybody knows what the resulting conversation is going to look like and you revel in the attention. Enjoy the weekend.

Irrelevent, they are rating companies and Chevrolet is neither in the top 20 nor the bottom 10. I have had cars from most of those companies over the past 50+ years and find their ratings plausible.
[QUOTE=C6Shark;1603480272]I want to know how others feel about the C6. I own one and I can honestly say that while it’s a beautiful car on the outside with a beast of an engine, the car was made like total crap!!! It truly has changed my mind on how poorly American made cars are.
1) my roof blew off on the highway going 80mph. Yes, you read that correctly, my roof!! Everything was latched on tightly, that wasn’t the issue. The roof where it has adhesive came apart leave just the outside in tact. They did a recall on this and Chevrolet told me to kick rocks and wouldn’t take care of the issue. They told me it’s not under my ViN but others yes. Yet the same exact problem happened to me.
2) the constant roof creaking every second while driving
3) weather stripping in rear and all over the car halfway off
4) my shifter **** I have tape on it looking like a cheap Honda because my **** broke off out of no where
5) constant noises by the steering wheel
6) all the sudden I wasn’t able to put the car in gear anymore. Turns out it was a wire underneath the car that broke that controls the gears.
many more and too much to list.
End of rant
I've had my 05 coupe since Feb 2014. I bought it with 59k miles on it and now has 73,7xx. Only repairs I've had to make are; a very minor fluid leak in manual transmission, end links and a/c compressor. Doesn't have any creaks or rattles either.
I am getting nervous! I purchased a 2013 C6 in March, have driven 6k plus miles since then with no issues but wonder if I should sell it before it breaks down.
Its great so far, most enjoyable car I have ever driven but should I go back to the Nissan 370Z or Lexus RC 350, both available used under $30k.

Absolutely you should sell it. It sounds like a time bomb just waiting to go off. It's even got me nervous.

Hurr durr ..you have the wrong poster. My torque tube makes ZERO noise....yet
But don't let reality get in the way of yours and others attempts to defend the indefensible by attempting to shame the op.
Again....there are THOUSANDS of pages on this very forums detailing the same identical failures (see my post above)...ad nauseum. Yet some STILL attempt to ridicule, deny and even blame ...wait for it...poor maintenance!
Deflection and denial....is just that.

Check the OP prior post. He has been complaining about these issues since 2018. Think he has had time to fix them yet?
Not to mention his story keeps changing and getting more confusing.
and most can be prevented with proper maintenance.
You can read the post on here and others forums daily that indicate many owners don’t perform preventative maintenance, i.e. “what tires should I buy, or are my originals from 2005 still ok”; “my 2007 only has 10k miles, should I change the fluids” etc. Then they’re surprised and complain when something breaks.
Out of ~30 cars I’ve owned over the years the only one that had any major issues was a ‘99 WS6 Trans Am that had the engine replaced under warranty for the well-known LS1 oil consumption issue. Funny I’ve owned 6 Jeep Wranglers and if you read the Wrangler forums you’ll see post after post about “death wobble”. Not one of mine has ever experienced that because I don’t put cheap lifts on them, run super heavy over-sized wheels, and mud bogging tires on the freeway, but I do perform all the required maintenance on schedule, hmmm.
