Default One drip

On my C6 2007, I get an occasional oil drip off the oil pan drain plug. I usually wipe it off and all around the pan and oil filter, thinking it might be coming from there. I really haven’t noticed any oil on side of pan. I have tried to tighten the oil drain plug but it is nice and snug, I don’t dare make it any tighter. I’ll be changing oil soon, can anyone tell if there should be some type of washer on the drain plug? If so, is it plastic, rubber or what. This is my first vette and my first time changing the oil.
Thanks

It is a rubber gasket. GM pn# 12616850. You might find a different brand at your local parts store. Rockauto has them in stock.

Buy a new drain plug with a neodymium magnet. Under $15.

I also use Teflon tape wound around the oil plug threads on all my cars. Together with the correct gasket, never had a leak from an oil plug.
