Default Service Traction System.....Help please.

so I've read everything I can find and have done a few things so let me tell you guys what's happening. This has happened in the past but after a restart it would go away for 6 months or so.

First day - in this order, Service Traction System after a couple of min's Service Active Handling, Service ABS System. Not every time I drive the car.
1. I replaced the rear hubs with Skf hubs, not for this but I had cheapo eBay hubs on the car and wanted good ones.
next day...
2. I replaced the front hubs with SKF hubs. Fixed the yellow connector under the driver seat with a wire tie. Checked under the steering wheel, the orange comb was already there, I guess it was fixed by the dealer. The wires were a little tight so I managed to give them a little more slack. I also installed a new MAF sensor. I also bought New tires and had the 2 rear TPMS replaced during the install. Discount Tire did the work.

day 3.....
3. went for a drive then " Traction System Active" came up on the DIC. As soon as I hit the brakes "Active Handling System active" came up on the DIC.
Shut the car off and parked it. Started it later and "Service Active Handling System, Service ABS system, Service Traction System cam up on the DIC in that order.

day 4.....
Removed the battery separated and cleaned the 4 connectors with CRC electrical cleaner. I drove the car and the same ****. when the service active handling warning came up I could actually feel one of the brakes engage briefly.

OK I got the car back today and there was a broken wire to the right rear wheel sensor. He repaired it and no more lights.

While he had it I had him replace the oil pan gasket because I had a slight oil leak. I dreaded trying to do it myself. Just figured I'd let you guys know what the final outcome was.

Today I bought a New battery and installed it. I used my other key Fob this time because when I use this fob nothing moves ie" seat, outside mirrors and no hello on the DIC.
Went for a drive and "Service Traction System" came on then "ABS active" came on the DIC. then "Service Anti-lock Breaks, Service Active Handling System came up on the DIC. Not sure where to go from here outside of buying a Tech II clone and trying to learn how to use it.

Help Please this is my DD........
I back to driving Ol' Faithful...my 1998 Camaro Z28 with 367,000 miles on it.

I also did a little P.M. and installed a few pieces or rubber to try and protect the BCM from the passenger's feet on the floorboard.

I am currently in the same boat.
Recently replaced my MAF sensor, runs a bit smoother than before, but Service Traction Control & Service Active Handling and check engine light is still there.

Read the Codes First !!!
A defective Speed Sensor will trigger the Traction Control, ABS and Active Handling warning.

can I use a store bought scanner Advance auto parts, or do I need a tech II. Some of the over the counter scanners state that they can read ABS codes.

You can try that scanner. My brother-in-law Tech had his work version that read the codes.
Good Luck !!

Go to Autozone have them read the codes. Could be a bad plug or wire. That’s what mine was doing.

Or borrow a scanner to read the codes - you should not need a Tech II to read the codes - if they are dedicated BCM codes then you more than likely will. I had a loose "Spark Plug Wire" and it set off all the same codes, it happens.

Thanks,Matt

As others have said, get the codes checked. The plug wires, battery are common. Mine was the EBCM.

Usually if it's a plug wire the engine will be running rough as hell and you will be very aware of it.

Are you referring to the throttle sensor?

Common thing to look for: plug wire, especially one of the back ones are loose on the coilpack.
Battery going bad
Sensor connections corrosion
Steering angle sensor broken/free swinging at the base.

I had this -Steering angle sensor broken/free swinging at the base after engine removal and pulling on steering column. It pulled the steering angle sensor out with the bearing. I pulled the steering column and hammered it back into the plastic locking tabs. Works great again.

How do you read the codes without the engine running? My 08 has no key only the push button start.

Push and hold the start button for 5 seconds without pushing brake(auto) or clutch(manual).
