I have the navigation system in my 2007 Vette. I'd like to set the clock and the date. The date is currently sometime in October 2002 which was about 5 years before the car was built. The time is only off an hour but I'd like to fix that too. Can anyone help?
You will be able to set the clock to the correct time, but the date does not seem to be able to be changed. I spent an hour trying to fix it but finally gave up. Just press and hold the time on the screen and it will allow you to change it.
Get it from here, I just downloaded it with no issues. You have to burn a CD with the LOADING.KWI file on it and install it. You can't burn it to a DVD, it won't work. This was all the work of one guy who took it upon himself to fix the clock issues that happened after they changed the way GPS time was being sent from the satellites. I wish I remembered his handle, but this was a huge thread a couple of years ago.
1. download the zip file. 2. Extract the KWI file. 3.Burn the KWI file to a disc 4.Start your car 5.Put the CD in the map disc slot. 6.The update will start automatically. 7.Reinstall your Nav disc

So to get the Map update you have to buy the $40 disc on ebay?
The clock fix is free. I think you can find the Map update cheaper than 40 bucks, they are combining the two to get your $$. I guess if you don't have a CDR disc or the capability to burn a CD then $40 bucks is not that bad of a deal..............

No, the above only fixes the clock issue. You can purchase a 3rd party copy of the map update for $15. I don't know of anywhere you can download the map update for free. The map update is no longer available through GM.
You might consider an aftermarket head unit. The time and day will work. Navigation through your phone, Color touch screen. Just a thought. If you want to stay all original the this is not an option. Good luck.

so I did everything as above....I can set the clock, but the date still shows Sept. 2002....I thought that it was supposed to fix that.

Are you getting a GPS signal? No red line through the GPS icon? Pretty sure you need to get a signal for it all to work properly, and you shouldn't need to manually set the time, either. The GPS signal should set that for you. Make sure, also, that you've selected the right time zone and daylight savings time appropriate to where you are. In case you need it, I've attached a manual for the NAV system.

I had the issue of the clock not showing up and doing the procedure above many years ago fixed the issue. However when I was searching for the fix it never mentioned anything about the date and mine was correct when I did the fix. I think you have something else going on here. Is you nav unit getting a GPS signal?

Yes, I am getting the gps signal....clock works perfect, just when I touch it on the screen, you get a date back in 2002
