When I try to stay away from others and others insist on getting closer to me "than I would like"........ I look for damage caused and if there is damage then we open the can of whooopass. so far i have never had to open that can.

The real reason IMHO? Because life is sending you a sign to not be too attached to materialistic things. There are more important things to cherish that money can't buy.
Have you ever noticed how many people get their brand new cars in accidents? That's why.

I am a gear head at heart, its in my blood. But things have changed for me over the last decade. The one above was a learning lesson for me about 8 years ago.

This time getting my second corvette it wasn't all about what I wanted. I allowed my wife to influence my decisions this time between two car mfgs/models, color, price and manual vs automatic.
The result? So far I have a wife that was never into cars and every other week now drives around like a typical car enthusiast with the color she loves and an automatic so that she can share in the enjoyment of the Vette.
Whenever my wife gets her energy into things having to do with big purchases for us, I blaze the general direction: she comes in, puts her energy into it and we do fantastic.
I haven't lost money or got my butt kicked in a major purchases in years because of this.

Yes, the consequences extend beyond after school detention.

No disrespect sir, had this been your '63 in place of my Grand Sport, you wouldn't as so much as raised an eyebrow ? I've only had the car a few weeks, so pardon me if i'm still in the "very protective stage" with it. I would never have assaulted anyone in this situation, but it was rather peculiar that his front bumper was only about 2 inches from my rear in a parking lot that had dozens of other open spaces, a few near the little trees giving some shade.

OP, get used to things like that. I call it "corvette envy". Its a free country people can park where they want, as long no harm is done to you or your car you should just shrug it off.To me its a back handed compliment that you have a nice car

I have learned to laugh it off. Just remember some people are jerks and its their problem not yours. 😎

I had just bought it and waiting for the shipper , I was more worried about the car getting stolen. 😆😆😆There were several pick-up trucks with empty car trailers cruzing around the hotels in that area. That hotel was about 3 blocks from Interstate 35

I agree with you about being a foot to the left but in that situation my drivers door would have hit the curb. I had just parked there and was planning on parking the rental car next to it. I thought we were far enough away from other vehicles , we went to grab a bite to eat and viola. Did I get upset ? No I didnt because no damage was done and its a free country and people can park where they want for the most part . Thank you for the compliment . It took me a year or so to find Blade Silver in a z06 they only made 473 that color.

As long as they don't damage my car I don't care.
I'm driving a C5 ($18k car) and recently bought a C4 ($6k car). If someone in an $80k suv wants to park close they're the ones at risk. Especially if it's leased and needs to be turned in later.

Every time I see a Corvette I make sure I park right next to him. 😅 👍
