I went to Lowes today to get a new impact wrench, i parked as far from the entrance as i could with no cars anywhere near mine.
I come out of the store and see this !!! Dude was still sitting in the truck ???!!! WTF. He came this close to getting a knuckle sandwich.
Lowe's must be the "I hate Corvettes" store. I took my '06 black convertible there last month. Parked straight and in the middle of the lines. I came out to find this crappy black large work truck parked about half a foot against my driver's door. I had to crawl in through the passenger side. I need some "You are an *** hole" stickers.

Years ago I had someone do this to me in my C3. When I finally got to the drivers seat I put my window down and put a screw driver against the side of the other car that was 6 inches away and proceeded to back out of my spot and at the same time put a custom pin stripe down the passenger side of their car.
Im not saying two wrongs make a right, but it made me feel better.
Maybe he values his truck as much as you do the Vette. He parked behind you, not next to you. I figure it's a public parking lot so people are free to park wherever they want.
I don't get torqued unless it's obvious they were being an a$$hole by parking too close to one side of the car, which is normally passenger side since I back into a space with an island and curb whenever I can.

Same here, Over the past 42 years of driving sports cars I believe I have mastered the art of the parking space. I park far enough away to keep the car safe, but not so far out that it says to people, I have a nicer car than you, so stay away. You are always going to have the people that want to be jerks.
That's one place I don't take the Corvette, with all shopping carts in the parking lot and dolly used to transport boards of wood all dangerous to Corvettes.
Same thing here. Empty parking lot and I parked all the way at the end. At least my guilty party left a little more space than your guy. But also in my case, I was pulled up a little bit and farther from the line which probably helped. I think some just want an excuse to check out our cars which is fine, but just park close by, not on top of us.
I park far away like you and this pisses me off sometimes too, but in this case, perhaps he was trying to park in the shade? I do that sometimes
Perhaps, anything is possible, but there were several identical areas open with the small trees shade. And his front bumper was about 2 inches from my rear.

His front bumper was about 2 inches from my rear, when i first looked up at saw the situation from the store entrance, i honestly for a moment thought he hit my car. I went numb and froze in place. I've only had the car 2 weeks.
Good question. I was calm and relaxed out with the Vette on a perfect Saturday afternoon cruise. I stared directly at him for a few seconds and i realized no damage had been done. My conclusion is that this was intentional (there were other similar areas with shade that were open) to solely scare the pants off of the Vette owner, some kind of sick mind game. If it happens again and dude is still in his vehicle, i will say something. First time this ever happened to me.

Good point, but i wasn't planning on being in the store very long and considering where i parked and the number of open spaces around me, i deduced there was no way any of those spots would be a risk.

I think you took the right approach, in my humble opinion.
