And a picture of what it looks like installed. Plug & play.

finally somebody that knows the facts …. While the Morimoto might change the look of the car, they’re absolutely a waste of money if you’re looking for more useable lumens. Upgrading the projectors is the way to go.

Morimoto: Excellent construction, however the headlight performance is not a significant improvement over factory. The Morimoto has a more intense hot spot, but at the expense of the rest of the pattern. Overall, the Morimoto puts out 10% LESS lux at 2-feet compared to OEM.

Low beam comparison

Type II - SImilar overall design as the Morimotos, but comes with a Bi-Xenon projector for use with existing ballast and HID bulb (or can upgrade to new HID bulb) The Bi-Xenon projector is a substantial improvement over factory by using a water-clear lens (as opposed to the semi-frosted OEM lens) and a larger reflector bowl. As a result, the same bulb in the OEM will show nearly a 50% increase in usable output at TDC when installed in the Type II Bi-Xenon projector.

OEM bulb in factory headlight - 1560 Lux

OEM bulb in Type II projector - 2315 Lux

XB 5000K bulb - 3070 Lux

High beam pattern (using XB 5000K bulb)

The Type II lights we sell also come with our Correct Function DRL harness that allows DRL/Signal interface as well as preserving the Flash-to-pass option during the day.
