Default Brake pads

Can someone send me the OEM (ACDelco) part number for ceramic front pads and a reliable place to purchase them. It’s for a 2005 convertible Z51 with hvy duty brakes….i think the build code is J55? My research has me finding different part numbers with widely varying costs and I want to be sure I match the original pads. Thanks….

You want the J55 semi metalic HD pads, not the base JL9 pads that are the same size, but pad material not as aggressive as the HD pads.
The Jl9 pads uses to be semi metalic as well, but GM change those base pads to ceramic instead.

As for rotors, if your oem drilled J55 rotors only have about 25K or less on them, should be enough meat on them to be turned to clean them up.
At the 50~60K mark when the second set of pads have worn out, will need to replace the rotors too, since not enough meat left on them.

Click Here: Rockauto is my go-to when seeking part numbers

I save big $ by buying customer returns on that jumbo retail web site. FYI if you are looking to save money.

They have a set of ACDelco Gold 17D731CHF1 that will fit your J55. $83 pads for $45.

And I second what Dano says.....OE is semi-metallic pads and are better IMO. Always had semi in 110,000 miles and never had brake squeal or replaced the rotors. Dust is another story, but not for my comp gray wheels. That site has a set of ACDelco Gold 17D731MHF1 for 30 bucks
