Just something I noticed when out driving around.
I get and receive waves from every Generation Vette Owner except for the C8's, I'm not meaning to de-mean them but true story.
I could of easily bought a C8 if I wanted and would of waved to any Vette.
I wave at the C8 guys and get NADA.

I've been waving from all 8 generations for many years, even when I'm in my C8Z. The C8's don't wave back at my C8 and haven't a clue about the tradition.
The reality is, the vast majority of C4 through C8 don't wave. C1, C2,C3 is a very high wave rate. I just keep waving.

I agree, that's what I've found too. C8 owners don't seem to know the tradition and I think they must be mostly first time Vette owners. That's why I say a C8 isn't a true Vette. I might get criticized for my opinion but that's what I think.
I typically don’t wave.
If people wave at me, I will wave back, but that’s not really my thing and kind of weird to me
You must not ride a motorcycle. Waves much more prevalent.
But you don't really "wave", just a little arm-out acknowledgement. Same for me in the vette....just lift my fingers off the steering wheel for my fellow man.
I wave, but I am used to waving, from the time I rode a motorcycle to now in the Vette. Most Vette owners wave around these parts, no matter the generation. When I am out in my 91 Z28 convertible I get waves all the time from the new Gen 5 & 6's.
As a former motorcyclist I got used to waving or otherwise acknowledging fellow bikers on the road. But I also found that there were some Harley riders who didn't wave when I rode a Honda 750. Then when I had my H-D Road glide, the Harley riders always waved at each other.
It's a tradition among Corvette owners as well, signifying a camaraderie among those relatively few who own America's True Sports Car. The C8 owners who have moved up from their previous Vettes tend to retain the wave, but I've seen quite a few others who fail to do the same.
If one waves or not is not going to impact your driving, but in my mind it's a friendly gesture recognizing someone else who is also out enjoying that feeling of driving an icon of American automotive excellence.

I used to ride motorcycles, I didnt like doing it then either.
Again not my thing. I don’t buy things and do things to fit in. I don’t know these people. I don’t wave at people in any other car or boat I own either.

I don't think it's a matter of fitting in. It's just a nice gesture amongst Corvette owners.
I think it's kind of cool and I also think we could use more friendly in the world.
