‘10 GS 4LT Stereo Question
directly into the back of the unit or do you have to plug an adapter into the FM cable?
Not interested in changing out the head unit at this time. Thx for positive input.
Does anyone know if there is an aux port on the back of the radio that we could plug into?

I wonder if previous model year head units have a USB port in the back that was not utilized. If it does and you want to know how GM mounted it in 2011-2013, you now know.
The graphics of the original NAV head unit is like a Windows 95 computer, surely not impressive. The operation of the navigation in our 2013 GS is also very dated/cumbersome and is stuck in the year 2013. However, my wife and I find the operation of the music portion acceptable as long as we don't physically link our phones through the unit via the wired AUX port. Though the AUX-to-phone jack works, it is not friendly, in-part because the phone has to be placed somewhere to interact with. My USB memory stick with all our music, plugged-in to the USB port, is always available without a cord and the operation to access it is easy through the NAV menu, and is organized exactly as I have it on the memory stick. So it works well enough for us to keep our 2013 GS convertible "original" of which I value.
Naturally, the original head unit has no backup camera which is another matter. If I were to change head units, I would leap forward to get everythng I could from phone linkup to back-up camera.
People say the quality of sound in the original NAV unit is inferior, but ignorance is bliss. We think its great, keeping in-mind that we always drive with the top-down. It's our 4-wheel 1800cc Honda Goldwing with a trunk big enough to carry our golf clubs, and we don't have to suit-up like we are going to war

Seems they're largely less common now than they used to be. Still way cheaper than a new radio.

I believe Fred to be that wise man. It was the very first thing I did to my Vette.
That’s a good one Fred.
