Default Speed Engineering Gaskets

I got a c6 grandsport with speed engineering headers and their gaskets that came with the headers. I am currently experiencing some leaks from the headers debating on replacing the gaskets any recommendations for gaskets?

I would pull the headers and mill the sealing surface, they typically warp after sufficient heat cycling. The gaskets can only seal up small gaps.

I use Mahle MLS gaskets that are just like OEM. I also put a very thin coat of high temp copper RTV on the manifold side of the gasket. This strategy has worked great for me on high HP turbo LS setups.

I'm trying the same now on speed engineering headers on my own grand sport. The flange quality is pretty bad, pitted and warped. We'll see if it seals....

The graphite gaskets are garbage. They can blow out easily from the exhaust gases.

Just use the OEM MLS gaskets.

I’m about to install my speed engineering headers this weekend. I ordered some mls gaskets off amazon that had good reviews, hopefully they are better than the ones included with the kit.

Get OEM gaskets. They're so cheap.and it's worth having OEMs vs having to redo the damn things.

Hack mechanic tip - reuse the OEM gaskets on the head side as long as they're in decent shape. You can double up on those gaskets and be fine.
