2010 GS 6mn with 4lt with 10k miles. The entire hvac unit went dead a few miles into a recent trip.
I pulled all the fuses & they were OK. The unit was working again when I started it up but has been on/off since then.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any suggestions on what to check?
What to try?

Sounds like the compressor needs a shim-ectomy, but didn't know C6s were susceptible to this. I have 2 other cars (non-Vettes) 1999 SHO and 2006 Mitsubishi where the air gap between the AC compressor and clutch gets too wide and when the engine heats up, the clutch engages but isn't clamped down sufficiently to compress and the AC goes suddenly hot. When you shut off the car, and the engine cools down, the air gap shrinks and the AC works fine.
The solution to this issue has been to give the AC clutch a "shim-ectomy" but undoing the bolt holding down the clutch, removing the shim (washer) and re-fastening the clutch. Don't need to break any AC lines or anything, and usually takes about 20 - 30 min max if you have the 90 degree needle nose pliers to hold the clutch disk steady while un-fastening the nut.

Hope you get your issue solved.
Im not experiencing just the A/C shutting down. The entire HVAC head unit goes dark. No display. No fan. No A/C. Nothing.
Fuse box wiring might be suspect. Seems to be common issue. There are some threads on here about pulling it apart. But you will want to dig out your multimeter and jiggle things around to see if the connection holds firm or cuts in/out. C5Diag might have some diagrams to help. Id be looking there first. Sounds like a failing connection.
If the HVAC control module “goes dark” you will need to connect a factory level scan tool to see if you can communicate with that module…if not you check its powers and grounds…that’s where you start… if this testing is over your head seek out an auto electric shop.
I have a professionally refurbished HVAC control if you need to purchase one. Still in the box and in like new condition. Can post pics if you are interested.
I had similar issues in my 2012 and it was the soldering inside the control unit causing intermittent connections. I lucked out with a local chevy dealer who had a young mechanic who knew just what to look for. He took it apart and re-soldered everything. 4 years later no issues. I would grab the one from Fred. These are hard to find.
OP, here is the one I have. Still wrapped in plastic but you would need to transfer your *****. I’ll probably list it soon in FS section if you are not interested. It was refurbished and soldering was all redone by a company called Autoecu Automotive Scientific Inc. Original price on receipt was $489 but I purchased it from a forum member for I think $300. I would be willing to let it go for what I paid.
