Precision Red is way too dark and it's almost like a different shade of Magnetic Red. Personally, I think Torch Red is a much more appealing color and I'm very disappointed that it or something similar to it is not going to be offered on the C6. There are still people out there who like an "arrest me" red and I don't think Precision Red gets the job done.
Looks WAY better than torch orange to me! I've hated that torch orange since that shade came out and I was like 9 or so in 1992 just looks orange! and looks even more orange in birhgt sun light
bright red was the best of all but since thats gone either dark red/mag red OR the precision red gets my vote.

Well, apparently you're in the minority with your hatred because Torch Red has been the top selling color for 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes so a lot of people must like it. I think it looks a helluva lot better than the new Precision Maroon......I mean Red. Maybe GM will realize how lame their new red is and change it for the 2006 model year.
All I need now is the #$%$@^& car. Dealer called again, letting me know that the instant any news (good ar bad) comes in from GM they will let me know as well as periodic tracking updates as soon as they become available.

....maybe it was top selling but thats probably since most vettes are sold fomr the showroom and not out in the bright sun!
I've had two red Corvettes, both Torch Red. So I like the color, though sometimes I thought it might be a little orange. I'm anxious to see the new P Red in person. I'm in the camp that thinks the best color for a Vette is red and a agree with a previous poster who used the term "arrest me red".

I think that was me in my first thread about the C6.
"A quick hue check on a properly white-balanced image shows what is obvious to most: Torch Red does not look orange in bright sunlight."
Well I had a 99 coupe a couple years ago and I hated the color and that it wasn't a vert but I was 17 and that was all I could afford and I was in perfect cond that was the main reason I bought it..the cond and miles. I hated that color out in the sun. I have a 95 vert now much happier I sold the 99 and paid more for the 95 vert the 99 was a nice car but just had to get rid of it since it was torch red. To me it looks way way too orange.
