I saw a Precision Red coupe in Bowling Green. I managed to get a couple of pics with my cell phone at the stoplight. I will post them this evening sometime. I must say it just doesn't look as good to me as Torch Red. Perhaps it will grow on me in time for my 2006. Thank my Nokia 3600 for the lousy 640X480 pic.
I posted on another thread. To me and my bud it looks very much like magnetic red (C5/C6 bash). Wil Cooksey said they have Torch red "on the shelf" so we are speculating it will make a comeback.
There was a comment that the darker red color allows seeing the curves and body lines better than brilliant /bright colors.
When I ordered my C6 the folder with the paint chips defenetly showed the precision red to be a metal flake. We even took it outside to see if it looked lighter them the magnetic red.
That is a good thing then. The paint chip looked exactly like mag red. I don't want metalflake paint. Too hard to match and touch up. I love the color in the magazines. I can only hope that it I like it when it comes in.
I don't know why 68Roadster says this is a dupe. Was he on the roof of my car? I didn't claim this was an exclusive shot. I just snapped a picture of the car driving down the road in Bowling Green, and posted it. It is truly sad that I finally decided to post something and someone has to whip out the dupe emoticon when it doesn't really apply. That could be discouraging to new members.
Lighten up Louise. That dupe was for me since I was already giving my same opinion in another post. I don't know why that dupe thing brings out such emotion anyway. I think its kinda cute. Dupe me all you want.
There were many that was disappointed with the P Red. I know of two that had ordered it but after seeing it are changing their order.
Thanks to the people who bitched that Torch Red wasn't red enough. Now we're stuck with a true red and it's not pretty.
GM waaay over reacted to the too orange / yellow comments IMO. My final opinion will be formed on the street, but from the pics and the Mattel models, that they have found a way to make a boring red with precision .
Dayam, I heard some people thought the C6 looked too "chopped off" ...now I know why
I was one who thought torch red has too much orange in it. But it looks like they may have taken it too far the other way....in some pics it does look like blood red. In other pics, like the one here, it looks just right to me. Only the live viewing will tell. Some people love it though. No biggie to me since I've been set on Mag Red .... except this may result in more people picking Mag Red.
...like a few others, I saw the PR C6 coupe in Detroit at the NAIAS. To my eye and under that lighting, PR appears to have a "pink-ish" hue to it. It's just not my kind of red...
