I am happy to see someone start a thread on this topic. I was reluctant to do it. I sat in my first C6 yesterday on my way home from work. I LOVED it overall, but the interior really was not impressive to me. The thing that really stood out is the 1 and 2 memory buttons. Why did they move them up onto the side of the door! You now have to awkwardly turn your wrist to push those buttons! "as a girl" the pretty factor is really high on my list! These "flaws" will not effect my buying one, and still have all intentions to do so, but it would be nice to have the corvette on the back of the seats, etc. Also the dash area looked more grey than black. I didn't really like that.
There will be lots of aftermarket stuff...until then
Man with all due respect that's not really called for. It's just the guy's opinion and aftermarket is not the point - the point is he wanted it from GM.
To be honest, the new XLR and C6 are quantum leaps for GM but both still leave me wanting. So until GM can out Lexus Lexus I'll take what ever they offer and tweak it the best I can. I think a few hundred dollars from Vette Esentials and my $30K 03 Z looks very nice, it's a nice place to conduct business I must say.
I do like how the C6 already has the gauge bezels and steering wheel decal, I'm sure many C5 owners will spend the $100 to achieve the same look so maybe our vendors will see a run on these accessories for the C5 since they won't be selling them to the C6 folks.
I think the C6 interior is a huge leap forward from the C5, having lived with both the difference is in the details. At first glance things seem to be pretty much the same, believe me they are not. Start with the instrument panel, looks pretty much the same, right? WRONG drive the thing a bit, the organic LED backlighting and the beautifully lit needles change the whole character of the dash. The gauges take on a far greater 3D appearance, clear and far more pleasant to look at. The materials around the windshield look and feel so much more detailed and thought out. The lines are cleaner less eclectic. The only real change needed is the center console needs padding. I have cashmere so it is color keyed, looks great but too hard. Live with the car and the differences become apparent.

No, the point is some people want everything for $50K. I am amazed & suprised at what GM gives us compared to all the competition.
Regardless how good the Vette is, the German (and even asian cars) are UNMATCHED when it comes to interior luxury. Also, the reason why the Vette is priced lower then its competition is because GM sacrifices interior quality the other companies put out. This is how they cut costs because they are giving a pretty shabby interior. If the Vette gave us the same luxurious interior like MB's, Audi's, BMW's, etc the price would be right up there as well.

i never look inside a MB,audi or BMW because they are out of my price range.

Mercedes and Audi do have fantastic interiors in most of their cars, but BMW has really gone to hell in a handbasket if you ask me. Their interiors remind me more of a prison than the cockpit of a luxury car. Apparently there have been a lot of complaints about the interiors in the new 7-series and 5-series, but as of right now I don't think they're going to make any changes. While the C6 interior is nowhere near that of Lexus, Mercedes or Audi, I do think it's a lot better than BMW, right on par with Cadillac and a small improvement over the C5. I too just wish they would have found a way to keep Corvette embroidered on the seats.
the overall quality of the interior is not af a 50,000 but it is alot better than a C-5 and you have to look at the big picture to really appreciate a corvette, look what they compare it to (viper, porsche, lamborgini)and all for 50,000 -WHAT A DEAL-
How much do you pay for a Mercedes or Audi to get the fantastic interior and performance equal to the C6?
Well, you can buy an E-Class Mercedes or an Audi A6(both very nice luxury cars) for the same price as a fully loaded C6. You can also get a Lexus GS300, RX330 SUV or ES330 for less than a C6 and all of those cars have ultra high quality interiors. I'm not saying the C6 interior is bad by any stretch, but there are cars at the same price point(or less) that do have nicer interiors. Obviously none of those cars have performance anywhere near the C6, however, so it's obvious that interior quality is not the main focus of GM/Chevrolet when it comes to the 'Vette. Personally, I think the C6 interior looks pretty good and the only thing I don't like the look of is the A/C controls. I think the climate control on the C5 looks better than the ugly ***** on the C6.
Though the interior is not impressive, Really its not suppossed to be! this is purely a sports car. Lots of power for little $$$$$. Interior is more impressive than the C5, but there is no need for the interior to be dramatically different! Dont forget its not meant to be impressive, its simply a sports car. The fact that Nav is an option is a huge achievement!!!
