We all know that AWD has an advantage of traction. If all cars are given true track tires, wouldnt the gap of traction close a bit more? And yes the GTR is ugly. :P

GTR is beautiful, i saw it @ auto show and its a masterpiece! I'm gonna buy a toy soon and availability of GT-R kills my desire for the car. Canada gets only 100 cars for the first year, such a joke! Plus slightly used Z06 for low 60s is a steal. But I do want to own and expirience GTR one day.

I wonder how tunable will GTR be!

I wonder if the ZR1 will be able to keep up?!?

The Corvette needs AWD, a mid engine layout or at least optional R-compounds.

Some interesting information:
The Z06 lost the "subjective" contest by less than the margin that it trailed the GT-R and the 997TT in the "seats" category.

On price-based scoring, they "bought" a 3LZ for $79k. I bought my new 2LZ for $68k. I'm interested in how many GT-Rs will be available for the "as tested" $71k.

Weird track times and weird comparo.

check this out

http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d...6911_chart.pdf

its a tie to a 60mph which is surprising. 100 mph z06 is faster then gtr and turbo faster then both, but at 120 z06 smacks both of them.

so from a roll turbo will leave gtr and z06 will take turbo due to its lighter weight!

5 sec/lap isn't faster,it's a bitch-slapping

But apparently this particular Z was no faster than the TT and that's not typical.

Hey, fellas, this ain't even the FDA. It's a hopelessly conflicted magazine. This question will reallly be answered all over America come this summer.

What Fun!!!

WOW! 5 secs is an *** kicking. And for the record the GTR looks best in black, worst in white imo.

as soon as someone on this board gets GTR there should be test to be done, but z06 should be supplied with proper tyres just as GTR!

Yeah, 5 seconds a lap is rude.

But seriously... the Porsche was on PS2s, the Nissan on some Dunlops I've never heard of before, and the Corvette was on GY Runflats. When the ZR-1 comes out with sticky tires it will be a whole different ballgame.

Will they say the ZR-1 sells for "$99,000"?

I'll take TWO please!

THATS the secret to this physics-bending performance!
3 different tires on the same car.
Which two wheels have the same tires on them?

So which are better, the SP600s or RE070s?

Could the GTR put an even bigger gap between the Z06?

BTW - the Spec V is going to be WILD. I'll go ahead and predict that it'll spank the ZR1.

its like this when you get to elite levels like these cars are its pretty ignorant to say that car is trash or this car is trash.

i love the Z06. ive had 2 corvettes in the last 10 years but i think these threads arnt to say hey look how much better the GTR is its showing all the doubters who said all of nissans performance #'s were lies. i mean this is a 3800lbs AWD and backseat producing this performance. very different than a Z06. it just comes down to there is no excuses or denying the GT-Rs amazing performance no matter how one hates it

HERE WE GO WITH THE TIRE EXCUSES!!!

It's GM's fault for putting out the Z06 with runcraps as oem tires. This is nothing new and why I personally hate that GM doesn't offer up a better tire as optional equipment.

Till they do, a Z06 will be compared to all others in this stock configuration and knowingly leave performance on the table. Sucks but for a stock vs stock comparo this is how it'll go down.

i mean i ordered the premium with the RE070's i think people have said summer Dunlop on the base is maybe just a little stickier tire. im not sure exactly. i think one test i read said on a track the RE070 held up a little longer when pushing it

lol your funny even the v-spec,and evo-spec are going to have a hard time beating the zr1 in every category.and the zr1 is not a strip down version like the v-spec going to be.and i still wonder what nissan is going to do once honda, and toyota release ther versions of the supra and nsx as you know nsx stock to stock was beating almost all the r32-r34 skylines in handling and acceleration and that was with one generation of nsx's.
