How would you guys like if someone came out with imation Katech motors? I'm sure you guys will sell alot of these parts but I sure expected more out of Katech than knock off parts. BTW I like many others have waited many months and held off from buying MTI's splitter, spoiler, and other manufacters splitters, spoilers because you posted several months ago on Katechs behalf that you were working on your own designs. Can't wait to see all the imatation ZR1's running around.
Our spoiler will be out within a couple months. If all goes well our hood too. These designs are unique Katech designs. Seperate from that, our hood supplier designed these ZR1-style parts and we are going to distribute for them.

Will the hoods be designed to use factory hinges and latches? Will they have a good finish on the inside?

Thanks for being willing to take a chance on growth in these uncertain times.

They will use the factory hinges and latches. They will be ready for paint with less preparation needed than other aftermarket hoods.

I just wonder why in the world anyone would want to make their car look just like a ZR1? Whatever, but IMO it would be a waste of time and money.

Jason - I'm curious about the "ZR1 fenders" bit. Just what does that mean? If they have the ZR1 side vents then don't you need a new door skin to match up the side strakes? They sure look different.

All C6 doors are the same. I know it looks like its different at some angles, but its just an illusion.

I wasn't sure. I was looking at a ZR1 at the dealer the other day but I must admit that I paid scant attention to the doors

The ZR1 fender vents sure to lead to a different impression but it makes sense that they'd keep costs down that way.

Thanks.

Oh, any hints as to just what these hood louvers will look like?

It's certainly a different look...and just like anything anyone does to their stock Z...it's also personal preference. For me, I'm not really a fan of the splitter or side skirst, but I do have the spoiler. I was planning on stopping there...but the fenders seem to be growing on me a bit. I wonder how much something like that would cost to have installed?

The bolt in louver set will have small louvers similar to the center section of the world challenge hood.

-Tested for automotive glass A finish

Maybe you meant to say "class A" not "glass A" ??

I heard a rumor that P&M might be offering C6RS body kit. (you wouldn't be able to do just one part.

Jason, any details on mounting for the side skirts? I heard you had to drill and rivet them on the ZR1.

Also, on the spoiler are you going to be including/recommending the inner fascia support like the ZR1 has?

I think thats baloney. Look under your Z06 and you'll find the answer.

You're getting ahead of us on the splitter. I don't think they have it designed yet. They are heavy into hood molds now.

Jason,
Any chance the spoiler will use the same mounting points as the GM racing? I would be willing to consider a switch but I don't know that I want to drill any new holes in the rear fascia.
Thanks,
Ron

Our spoiler uses the factory mounting holes. No drilling required.

Jason I like this idea. Yes your gonna have haters but why??? Guys with the standard c6's have been installing our widerbody kits to mimic the ZO6 look. So why can't we step up to making our Z's look more like the vette at the top of the food chain without selling our vettes to buy a ZR1. I really like the front fenders Jason!!!
