Default Need help removing stock mufflers

I am replacing my stock mufflers with a set of B&B Fusions. The destuctions from B&B says after removing from the rubber hangers the mufflers drop straight down and then you snake em over the axel. Well I got em to drop down to a 45 degree angle, but everything seems to jam up so they won't pull out. Any tech tips on how to snake em out of there? The mid pipe is out and the sway bar is rolled down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Try removing the metal pan (heat shield), that should give you enough clearance to slide them out. The passenger side was a pain to get out when I removed mine.

You have to twist them around a little bit. I had to remove the heat shied above the mufflers to get my pasenger side out.

This was one of the most horrible experiences I have had under a car.. It was 100 degrees out, and I had the car on jack stands..

Took effing forever and at the end of the day I couldn't even form a fist with either hand, so spent was my grip strength. Definitely a 2 person job and do it with some big height if possible.

do the drivers side first. looking from behind the mufflers need to be pivoted in towards the center of the car as you pull back and down. the drivers side should be fairly easy to do the passenger side is a PITA. i would go to youtube and look for the B&B install vid for the bullets. it shows on video how to pull the stockers off.

after loosening up the rear panel and dropping the sway bar there is a vacuum box on the passenger side of the chassis right at the top of the axle it just slides in so slide it out torwards the front of the car and ur exhaust will come out w/ no problem i did mine on my own w/ the rear lifted on a jack take these steps and you will have no problem

Many thanks guys, will give it another bash in the morning. The damn video makes it look soooo easy. I did Kooks headers and Corsa exhaust on my 07 mortal C6 and had no issues at all. How high does the car have to come off the ground?

The drivers side literally falls out, but the passenger side does not. I have never been able to get the passenger side out not without cutting three inches off the end of the pipe or lowering the K member by dropping the upper control arms, the lower shock mount and removing the 4 nuts on the K member. The easiest way is to cut three inches off the end of the pipe, if you do that it comes out easier than the drivers side. I also removed the electrical do dads on that side to get a little more room and removed the heat shield, in the end rather than beat the crap out of the undersides of the fiberglass I choose to cut the pipe and have been doing so since, its out in less than 20 secs after I cut the pipe.

I just loosen the 4 K member bolts and It comes rt out.Left side 1st. If you push the heat shield a little with a board it helps. The bolts that hold the heat shield in don't tighten back up well. When I run Bullits I leave it out anyway.

Thanks guys I got it done. I guarantee you it's the first and last one I ever do. The biggest issue was getting the car jacked up high enough, once that was done I followed your tips and all worked out well. I got 8 hrs. in the project. I hope this post helps others endure this adventure.
Again thanks.

Trust me I thought about that, however I wanted to save the stockers and it wouldn't make the install of the new ones easier.
