Thanks! Anything specific I should look for before officially making the purchase? I'll be listening for any excessive valvetrain noise but beyond that I'm not sure there's anything I should look at. I'll also be doing the headwork in a month or two, so she just has to survive until then. Lol.

Be careful on cold tires. You have lots of power. If you don't drive it a lot you might want to get a trickle charger to keep the battery topped off. Other than that , you are going to be a happy guy! Looks nice. Enjoy .

When I buy used I show up with a set of ramps, climb underneath, front and rear (looking for any leaking seals, drive shaft boots, shocks, back side of brake rotors, exhaust or any signs of running over large objects).
Go over engine bay with a flashlight as well as you can (same thing - looking for leaks, broken plastic tubing, anything out of place).
You can bring a mechanics stethoscope (looking for tapping or other noises that are excessive and / or different from one side of the motor to the other).
Finally, look at the oil (level - and understand how to properly check it) and color. Same with coolant and power steering fluid, brake and clutch fluid.
Interior is pretty straight-forward.

Can or did you get a Carfax? Have the heads been done. Can you buy a warranty? Can you get the previous owner's name (assuming you are buying from a dealer) so you can get history on car. Welcome to the forum - this is one great place to get information on one great car.
Enjoy your ride - be safe - take it easy until you GET TO KNOW THE CAR. She can be a hand full.
Happy Motoring!

Look at the dash, make sure there is no "bubbling" or pulling away from the underside. Look at the bottom of the windshield and around vents etc for separation.

I assume the fact you're posting up and buying a high performance sports car you have already covered the basis: Carfax, inspection, road test, tire check, paint defects, etc.
As far as a C6 Z06 specifically, depending on mileage check for any drivetrain voices at both idle and driving. Check brake rotors with the "finger lip" test and make sure brakes are nice and strong (depending on mileage of car and life left on pads, of course).
Make sure the baffles work on the bi-exhaust, should start up loud then go "quiet" and "loud" again when flooring it.
Overall, looks like a well taken care of car based upon cosmetic upgrades and minor mods to help the car breath better.
Good luck!

^Yessir I did run a car fax and check most of the items you stated. Appreciate the advice everyone, but here's what ultimately happened.
Well, we met up (he drove over an hour to meet me, I drove three). Test drove and did a walk around and everything was great. Drove as I imagined and everything felt solid. We went back to the meeting place after test drive and got out to talk for 5 min or so. Fired the car back up and...it didn't start. Ugh. Looking like crank shaft sensor **** the bed. So a ton of time wasted (way more than just the drive), and now we're not sure when it'll continue. I guess no z06 for me for a couple more weeks. ☹

Random electrical failures happen... not always an indication of a bad car. It's a drag that it happened after you'd driven all that way, but you might be able to turn that into a positive. Maybe have the owner get the car repaired at a specialist shop and have them inspect it for any other issues at the same time!
I'd keep it in the running, great looking car.
