[Z06] The new Kumho 355 ACR Tires Fit Like a Glove!
C6 Corvette ZR1 & Z06General info about GM’s Corvette Supercar, LS9 Corvette Technical Info, Performance Upgrades, Suspension Setup for Street or Track
I wouldn't exactly say that fits like a glove...make sure your Z is stock height....and I bet you'll have some major rub at front with turning, especially at full lock.
The 355 were 14" unmounted and 13" mounted on 12" wheels. Tire brands have there own size and I would think these are the same as the 345 MPSS.
I would say they have R888 like grip but heavier and a 100% street legal OEM tire. They have mild road noise like the R888.
The Z is stock height and no front rubbing at all even lock to lock. I would think they are so tight that maybe a bump or dip at full lock would rub.
No rubbing at all in the rear and they most likely the same as the wider than normal 345 MPSS. The INVOs that came on it were narrow for 345. I think these are narrow 355s or the 12" wheel pulled it in some. I would think on a 13" wheel they would be 13.5" mounted.
I had 295/35zr18 Cont DW tires on the front of my black C6Z and they never rubbed; but these P1s look more square and could be tighter.
The ONLY thing that would worry me are different tires on the front and back. Two different tire styles and compounds have two very different characteristics and limitations.

Looks Great. I agree about mixing tires but those Kumho's look very interesting! and they make a 295/25/19

they do not grip as well as the r888...that is 100% for sure.
"The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is fitted with Kumho® Ecsta V720 high-performance tires designed specifically for the car with unique tread pattern and compounds for front and rear. In testing, the new tires produce lap times that are 1.5 seconds faster than off-road-only race tires."
R888s are almost ten year old in technology. Times change...

I think you're over analyzing the issue. It not like they are all the same size on a C6Z. The rears are 60mm bigger and that alone makes them mismatched to start with. It's all about time behind the wheel and seeing how they act.

I think you might be mis-understanding the concern. The stickiness, predictability, etc are very different on the two tires you have. Never thing of taking on the track as that would be scary. On the street, its mainly for show anyways, so not likely to get up to optimal temps anyways. On a drag strip, won't matter either. Just don't take on a track.

2 different sizes of the same brand and type of tires is OK. 2 different brands or even types within the brand is not ok unless you only want to putter around town.
You don't want to go through the same thing you did over the winter again because of tires.

This.
I understand the tires are different widths from the factory, as with all Corvettes. That's not the problem.
The problem is when you have two completely different tires (different compounds, different contact patches, different limits, etc). This can make the car pretty unpredictable, regardless of seat time.

How much better do the R888s grip?
Once my new Wheels get here I have R888s to put on the back of my car. I'm keeping the Invos up front. It's just the streetcar and I wanted some more traction, but I still like to turn.

Let us know if there is any rubbing at high lateral G when one side is fully compressed. If not that is great to have even more options now. Thanks.

I don't have any data to quantify grip of R888 vs these Kumhos, but I have run an R888 for many years on the street and track now. I have 546rwhp, and in a straight line on the street the R888 grips about 75% of what my Mickey drags do, rarely ever spin unless its cold or you're trying to spin them.
On the track these puppies stick damn near a hoosier, not quite an R6 but close. The R888s ride better than my old Michelins, stick better, and last a ridiculously long time for what they are. I have 4 track days and 13,000 street miles and the fronts probably have another season and 1-2 track days left. Rears perfect. I forget my alignment, like -1.2 camber I think. Only downside is the slight tire hum at highway speeds.
