Just a stupid question that made me wonder and i coudlnt really get the infor from google searching so i wrote up this post.

I know that some of the performance upgrades on the vettes are the carbon ceramic brakes. (the brembo stuff rotors etc.) but all the years that are listed that they fit are from 2009 to 2013.. Did they not come in the 2014-2016? at all? and if they did are they different? whats goin on here guys that im missing?

You can get the Carbon Ceramic brakes on the C7 Z06 and now the C7 Grand Sport.

They are not identical to the C6 versions, but perfomance-wise there is no difference (well, other than they work harder on the C7 to control the extra weight..).

My view is, unless the intention is to track the car, carbon brakes are more trouble than their worth.

For ordinary driving the oem brakes are more than adequate.

Some people who track their cars that originally came with carbon brakes, did not like the feel of them and have gone back the metal brakes.

Love my CCB's. Zero issues, no dust, no noise and incredible stopping.

I drive in high speed events, no HPDE yet, and my Z07 CC brakes stop the car amazingly fast with no fade. When driving on the street they perform equally well.

Anyone knowledgeable of carbon brakes would wholeheartedly agree they possess vastly superior, no fade stopping power.

Would I like to have them on my car? You bet! Just can't deal with the cost to buy and maintain them.

In truth, the cost would be moot if my track skills were such that I could fully exploit the capabilities of carbon brakes.

On the street my cure for excessive brake dust and noise is Carbotech 1521 pads.

In addition to the other known benefits, the CCBs are proving to be surprizingly long lasting and durable in my experience.

I've noted that most people with negative commentary about CCB's are the ones that don't own them, or haven't experienced them.

IIRC, I think the rear rotors are a tiny bit larger, but don't quote me on this - honestly, I don't really care; some Google searching may reveal the answers.

Actually, if you don't track the car, they are supposed to last the life of the car from what I recall. So not much maintenance there.
