I had installed a vararam intake, longtubes w/ 3 inch x pipe, B&B bullet cat back and had a MS3 cam with all the things required to change with it, ie push rods retainer, double roller timing chain and prc 675 lift valve springs, also lowered it on deep dish C6Z wheels 18x8.5 and 19x 10 and nitto invo tires... its kbb at 31k in very good condition, which it is... ive put around 8k in the car whick I know I wont get back, but is asking 31k too much.... honest opinions guys... what would u ask for if it was yours and your money spent.... cheers
Use Edmunds instead, I find them a little more realistic with used True Market Value. You'll be disappointed to see that the TMV for a fully loaded z51 without nav is roughly 22.5k. Try to get as much as you can back for your mods.. If you can get half of what you put into it consider yourself lucky.
I'd imagine someone would love to have a low mile modded c6 for just a few k less than your asking price. Realistically, I'd pay 24-26k if I was not waiting for the c7. -like so many others are.

Well since you are doing so, I will go ahead and Offer you $22,000 since that is around my $20k post! Let me know if your willing. I will travel to pick up.

Looks like I found a couple deals that might work out... What would you guys do ... 2007 C6 needs some paint work $20k or a 2005 around $21.5, both with about 70k miles on the clock.

well i hope the c6's keep there value.... u can can want to get them for 18k with high milg.... what the hell do u want fo a resale later... do u wanna have a nice corvette, put good money into it and then sell it for 10-12 k, a few years later... I talked with my bank this morning, and with 27k on the odometer, and in very god condition, they would loan 30,800 against my car... so I will stay around that number, and that doesnt include all the money I have into it, already considering that a loss...

03-04 svt cobras are fetching 19-25k, a c6 corvette in without-a-doubt a way better car... so should be priced accordingly, all an svt is, is a cheap mustang thats too heavy, with a ****** designed heavy 4.6 that makes crappy power all motor, so ford put a ****** blower on it.. still heavy and they get beat on by cammed ls motors all day long....

i can't imagine c6's dropping too much more than standard depreciation when the c7 comes out. the car that's getting hammered is the c5. if gm sticks to the 10yr parts rule in 2014 a LOT of c5 parts will get discontinued. it will be 2 generations old. lot of negs for value. i remember back in 2000 a 1990 C4 with 90k would still fetch 11-12k in excellent condition. in 2005-2006 when parts were discontinued and it was about to become 2 generations old that same 11-12k car might fetch 7-8k with some selling as low as 5k. very few c5 ads on here seem to be selling and 9 out of 10 don't hit reserve on ebay. people are asking 20k for a 2003 car with 50k miles. well....when a 2005 car with 50k miles is around 3k more it should be no surprise why the 5's are sitting.

Yeah, it will def be a while before we see our C6's going to those low prices. I got a damn good deal on mine, dont think I'll have trouble getting my money right back a couple years from now if I even decide to sell it( I get attached to these particular cars for some reason).

I would say $23,000-$24,000 if it's a 3LT and everything is OK, never wrecked, never flooded, clean title, no major issues, et cetera. If it's a 1LT, less. I bought a 2005 (Z51-3LT-Coupe-A4), with 42,000 +/- miles, 3 years ago for $23,683. I told the salesman, I'd take it for $25,000 out the door (including TT&L). I would start out asking $25,000 and leave yourself some room to go down, but the days of those cars selling for $27,000 are over, unless there is something to really sweeten the deal.

So you would be willing to sell your car to the OP for around $20k as the max amount he posted that he is willing to pay?

You can buy low milage 2008s down here for low 30s, these days. The going rate, I've seen is around $33K-$34K, with 25K-35K miles.

I know, crazy ... here in MN the prices at dealers are nuts. When they're asking in the low 30s for 2005s... and you tell them you could have picked up a brand new one for $42K not too long ago....they look at you like you have no idea what you're talking about. And it even gets funnier when you bring up Edmunds TMV prices, or the LS2 versus LS3 in the 2005-2007 vs the >2008

"Wait, what? You don't want a 7 year old car for this amazing price?"

How about a 2005 for $35K?

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

Or this low-mileage 2006 for $36K??

Yeah the prices up here are ridiculous indeed. Even the few privately sold ones have stupid prices. There was an 06' A6 that was for sale a couple months ago around St. Paul that has like 75k miles with an asking price of 21.9. I almost think I should have jumped on it, but I really do not want an auto. Of course, within three days of it being listed, it was gone.

anyone paying north of $25k for a 05-06 is just crazy. You can get decent mileage 2008 LS3 cars for around 30k. I would hold off for a LS3 if possible. So many improvements from 05-08.

That's cheap even for a higher miles auto. Did you view or drive it personally? Know whether it checked out car fax and title?

I could have ended up with a brace of autos last year when I was looking for my budget. Eventually a manual turned up but it was a long drive!

Anyone who says 20k c6's of any quality are ten a penny is lying to you.

Anyone who thinks a 5 day auction on eBay is a fair appraisal of a cars value is also wrong. You will deffo see the trade value but you may or may not see the true retail value depending on who's in the market that week. A reserve is a very good idea.

One other observation I'd make is if you can wait till winter you'll get bags more car for your money.
